I wonder if the ram is upgradable.

I didn't bother to look at what the max supported is, but bear in mind you'll only get dual channel speeds for the portion of memory that has another stick to talk to, for lack of a better explanation.
So if it's 8gb of soldered DDR4, plus a 32gb sodimm, you'll get 16gb of dual channel, and the rest will be single channel speeds.
