Every time I see a larger size for microSDs, I remember when I was a kid and my dad bought a new computer with an 8 GB hard drive and that seemed like so much storage.
And now for less than $100, you can fit 1.5 TB into the size of my thumbnail.

Even if it isn't face, this is ridiculously slow for a modern, high capacity card. V10 is a 10MBps card. Granted that the SteamDeck is only UHS-I capable, but this is about 1/10 the potential speed of a UHS-1 card, iirc.

it's unacceptably slow for 2024.

it's useless for a GoPro or any high resolution video recording device…basically only makes sense to store music and still photos on and any similar use case where you're only reading a single smaller file at a time.

I wouldn't use it for photography unless when you're transferring photos off it you're ok with leaving it while it transfers 1.5TB at a snails pace

Same here… Different era than what you mentioned, but I remember spending $75 on a 256mb SD card for my first MP3 player. The good 'ole days.

Isn't there a program that can tell if it's a fake? I don't remember if it's samsung cards only.

Wow how do you know if you get a fake from Amazon? Is there any way to tell?

The 1TB Sandisk Nintendo Switch card is $85, and this 1.5TB Sandisk card is now $89. Other than the obvious Nintendo branding on the card which one would be better for the Nintendo Switch?

The 1.5 is faster and offers 500 gigs more space for $5 more.

So its a "no-brainer" than to go with the 1.5TB for the Switch?
