No, AT&T will not unlock the phone until it is fully paid up. I went through tat with my S23U. You can pay it all upfront though and get it unlocked. It will not stop your device credits. You will continue to get those for 36 months.

With this Walmart process I would have ended up paying 425 (300 + 90 Tax + 35 Activation fee) which was 150 less but then I was locked in for 36 months with AT&T which I wanted to avoid.
I went back through the process and this time I entered my home address and now Verizon didn't approve my application and ask me to call a number that when I call they ask for an application number that I don't have and they disconnect. Any advice what I should do? The number they asked me to call is 800-652-0644.
I would appreciate if anyone has any advice how to proceed here.
No, AT&T will not unlock the phone until it is fully paid up. I went through tat with my S23U. You can pay it all upfront though and get it unlocked. It will not stop your device credits. You will continue to get those for 36 months.
