Ok, get it. While some are flippable between two sizes some are shopping for a 55" and not a 65". The 65 is also $50 more.

They are both budget TVs made in China.
How about this, your post makes no point. You bought a $1000 TCL, more than five times what this cost and almost 5x as much as the $228 TCL deal. Plenty of people in other thread are complaining their TCLs have failed, and all over Reddit and the internet too too. And I know their similar failure complaints regarding Hisense. Like yours.

I am not pro Hisense and I am not anti-TCL but their quality is not much different than TCL when comparing their failure rates

I do have a Hisense with a Toshiba label that has not failed. M550, love the TV, probably paid 1/3 of the cost of a QM8. I also had a Samsung QLED that failed after only 2 years that was smaller and cost double. So does that mean Hisense is better than Samsung? I don't think so but for sure Samsung's Edge Lits have issues as written up in an article on RTings. But their OLEDs are fantastic TVs. I would not buy their low end shit. At least with the cheap Hisense and TCLs that crap out you didnt spend a lot . Id still probably buy a warranty. It sucks to spend a lot on a Samsung and have it crap out just outside warranty

Your particular good luck with your TCL does not prove a point if that is what you are trying to do. I happen to think the QM8 and QM7 are nice TVs. I may buy a QM7 but I'll get a warranty after my bad luck with Samsung. But the TV you own (assuming we are talking about the $1000 QM8) and the one Walmart is selling for $228 are not in the same league. Nor is the tv in this thread.
65" is 40% more screen size than a 55" So spending $50 is more for a 65" is certainly better value in $ / size.

BUT not everyone wants or needs such a big TV. Many spaces can't really fit such a large screen.

Does Walmart still have an in home return? I may return the 50 and get the 55 if that is possible.

I just bought the 58" for $230… it's a tad too big for my space, but maybe I'll have a bigger space in a couple years?

Wondering if it'll be worth trading mine in for this but is the 3" gonna make a difference?… 🤔

ugh my Hisense 55" just started crapping out. Internal memory getting corrupted. Never buying another Hisense again, looks like it's a common issue. They only last a few years.

My 55h8f had exactly the same issue. Now I have a 65in TCL QM8. It has been rock solid and has a beautiful picture!

The TCL QM8 is not in the class of this TV nor is it in the same class as the $228 TCL 65 deal. These are both budget TVs.

Dod you pay $1000 for the QM8 or you got a deal? Its currently $999.99 at Best Buy.

Not really. The size measurement is measured on the diagonal

I will add here - the 58" Hisense I just bought (a week ago) same model [R6] has so far been pretty good.

It replaced a 50" sceptre tv I've had for 5 years. I'm still keeping it, just in case, because no matter how many scratches and chips it's gotten, it's still showing clearly on the screen and still works. 💪🏽

As for this Hisense - the speakers sound better, the picture is a lot more customizable and "shows" better (the full array lighting I think is the genie here) and the Roku os is FAST! I have gone through 4 fire sticks that just keep over bloating to the point that it becomes useless and kicks off my own downloaded apps to keep storing more Amazon bs that CANT be deleted 😡 I am THRILLED with the Roku setup so far and it works amazingly well!

In another thread, someone suggested not putting the TV on the network. Ridiculous thing to have to do, but the TV theoretically shouldn't have much reason to wear out the flash memory if it's not downloading anything that needs to be stored, so I think it makes sense as a mitigation.
