iPhones are unlocked automatically 60 days after activation (with IMEI and a paid plan). You don't even need to open the box. Simply check sickw.com on day 60 or 61 and the status should show unlocked. You can then setup the phone anywhere, without or with a SIM from different service provider.

Bought this from previous deal.

Used edge with ms shopping which was 15% back last time. Bought 2 and showing $30 back pending on both transactions. It's 12% now and seems the best deal available.

I had chase offers on both freedom unlimited and CSR for 25% back capped at $15. Those both qualified so $45 cb plus standard cb from credit cards combined. I see the chase offers are back on both of those cards for me now; almost tempted to try and buy 2 more.

Received both phones, they will come with SIM card and instructions taped to back of iPhone box. Follow instructions which include going to straight talk activation website and inserting the sim. The silver, or whichever plan you choose, is tied to the sim and you will see a message to that effect when completing activation on the website. Once activated, text UNLOCK to 611611 twice and you will receive a response that lists the unlock date. You only have to pay 1 month of service and the device will unlock 60 days post activation.

thank you! I decided to go ahead and have the extra phone since my phone and my son's phones are always acting up. I figured having an extra one on hand is worth $266 so I don't have to buy a more expensive one goes out.

Has anyone unlocked a Straight Talk phone in Mexico? My girlfriend would be in Mexico after the 60 day mark.

Regarding 60 day unlock... I chatted with CSR, and asked if 60 days of continuous service is required for unlock, or 30 days paid + 30 days wait. This is his reply regarding 30 days pay + 30 days wait:

That can be possible but I would highly advise to have 60 days of continuous service so that the unlocking request process will be smooth. If you only do half or 30 days, the system will take longer to unlock it compared to the 60-day requirement

So, has anyone have actual experience with doing the 30+30 method and have their phone unlocked?

Strange, mine actually shipped last night (got first UPS notice 2 days before) and delivery is 25th, Monday. Shipping isn't consistent.
Now my UPS tracking has updated to Tuesday, November 26 between 3:45 P.M. - 7:45 P.M.so a day earlier.

Not true. I bought an Iphone 11 from Total Wireless two years ago and it absolutely would not unlock in Mexico. I had to wait till I got back into Texas to unlock it.

That's not how unlocking works. All iphones get unlocked through the apple activation server. It does not matter where in the world you are.

It doesn't always show "no sim restrictions" immediately. It might take a few days for the phone to update. To "force" it to show unlock on the 60 day mark you need to swap out the sim for a different provider or factory reset the phone.

Have you done this before? Purchased a phone from ST and had it unlocked in another country?

So the correct procedure is:
  1. Add phone to cart
  2. Select Silver Unlimited plan
  3. Enable auto pay
  4. Get phone and activate
  5. Disable auto pay and end stop renewing the monthly service?
  6. Wait 60 days to unlock.
Step 5 is where I'm not sure. Does ST let you just end the Silver Unlimited plan without any strings?

Each time I try to order online my order gets cancelled a few hours later. So I went to a walmart store and they started the activation process with my name and email and their scanning the phone box and entering the IMEI. Then it reached the 'create account' step and no further progress could be made. Their clicking on the 'create account' button seemed to be processing but when it stopped it just stayed on the same page. So I could not get the barcode to buy the phone. I tried this a two different stores. Anyone ever have a similar experience or have any suggestions? Thanks!
