So you did 2 separate orders then..order first phone when you open a new account and once that shipped you place this 2nd order?
1st account: ordered, received phone
2nd account: ordered, phone shipped.

Logged back in to 1st account added line plan and phone. They canceled it the next day.

For your second account what did you change besides the email? Did you use same address, shipping address, credit card, name, etc.?

For people asking if the sim can be used in another device while waiting for the 60 days to unlock, I took the chance to figure out.
Got the phone, activated successfully as a new line, texted unlock to 611611 and got a confirmed unlock date.
Then I took out the sim and pop it in another phone to use. It worked right away
Today the new number is showing as a line, and the iPhone 13 imei purchased on ST is shown as inactive on a separate line (phone # and imei used to be on the same line)
Not sure how it's gonna turn out but for now that's the change in ST account that I can see.

When you activate, do i select i want a new number or keep my number? All I want to do is take this phone to TmObile and use it?
After 30 days do I need to call in to cancel my account?

And you said it yourself
"not sure how it's gonna turn out" -
You shouldn't suggest doing something when you don't really know.

Sims are registered to phone at activation, there's a right way & a wrong way to do things with Straight Talk (& the other brands Tracfone & Total Wireless).

Plenty of people have had to spend hours with support because they believed stuff they read from someone that didn't have a clue what they were doing.

What you did is not recommended by long time experienced users or by support.

I'm not suggesting at by any means, I am just providing information for whoever asking the same question.
I do understand that this is not recommended, I do realize there is a risk, but I am also curious because there has been no concrete evidences to this (unlike other well-documented issues)
I think worst case I can just pop the sim back and it will activated the imei with the line again. Since it automatically deactivate the iPhone when I pop the sim in another phone, It probably should be activating it again when I put the sim back. It was originally activated with the iPhone anyway.

Maybe wait until you have concrete information before posting - too many new users only half read the info as it is & some have trouble even activating.
Last thing any new user needs is to get caught up in a situation with ST refusing to unlock the phone because of something they read here and assumed it would work.
Sim swapping has always been very YMMV with this provider.

Iike I said, I never had any intention to suggest anyone doing it. I don't know how you get that impression.
My post was rather a deterrence than a suggestion.
I made it pretty clear in my post that switching sim card to a different device will trigger some changes in the system that might impact the unlock.
I took the risk on my own to answer the question that many people have in the first place. Anyone who read it correctly shouldn't think of it as an suggestion of it being okay to do so.

Finally, customer care rep was able to add the $45 plan manually. She said their system is not recognising any prepaid minutes/plan associated with the order number. They looked up the order number online and had to activate with $45 plan manually.
Same. Can't believe how long it took.
