Generally good specs, but it looks like the 4060 is run at 45W, which is going to bring fps down quite a bit. I'm passing on this one personally for that reason.

Specs look good, but 45% NTSC color gamut on the screen is pretty bad, it doesn't reproduce colors in the same way and will make your screen look washed out and like it has a grey or white film on it. Look for a screen with as close to 100% DCI-P3 as you can get, or at minimum you want as close to 100% sRGB aka 100% NTSC as possible for the best color accuracy.

Not sure what 2024 has to do with rebates; but yeah, rebates have always been a thing.

But did you buy the water heater from your energy company or was the water heater manufactured by your energy company? The only reason that tech companies offer rebates is to entice buyers, whom half of forget to submit the rebate or the rebate gets rejected for some bs reason. I worked for a PC parts maker for 8 years and it was always something with the rebate processor, trying to weasel their way out of paying up.

Yeah, I get it - I was always pretty diligent in getting my rebates back in the day. Maybe there aren't as prevalent now, but I was just saying they still exist. I haven't bought anything off of Newegg in years, they used to be my go-to!

Uncleskeleton is 100% right, rebates are lame these days and Newegg is pretty much the only vendor still doing them.

This! I found out the hard way. Colors are terrible compared to 100% or above. I'm actually looking at laptops with OLED screens to get those inky blacks and the colors to pop!

Just know if there is a problem with the laptop you have to deal with the manufacturers warranty. They automatically null NewEgg returns once you cut the upc code from the box. So you might miss out on the rebate deadline. They do this purposely. You rush to mail in the rebate that expires on Dec 2 which gives you no time to test everything checks out. It happened to me. I found a problem with a msi laptop. It took forever to confirm a RMA back to NewEgg. But since it had extended returns into the new year I got my black friday money back in late January. I was so lucky I didn't cash in my rebate as I noticed my touchpad pointer kept jumping around at random which turned out be a bad ground. If I had rushed to mail in the rebate NewEgg would have instantly denied me because cutting any packaging stop any refunds. Note they also sometimes pack in hundreds of dollars or free software at checkout. If you redeem those codes and return a laptop this will charge you the value of said software subtracted from the refund! So beware of these gotcha deals. In the end I ended up getting my full refund and later bought a next gen laptop because of all the delays getting my money back.

So if you buy from NewEgg;
* Film the unboxing to put everything back the way it was for a potential return (they can devalue its resale value upon inspection
* test everything thoroughly
* do not send in rebate until you know for sure you are keeping it.
* do not claim free software or accessories at checkout as they will subtract its total value from your refund, in fact your bank will see your laptop purchase split as 2 charges. One for the free gifts value and the other as the computer value minus gifts value. Example $1000 computer gets $400 charge and $600 charge on the day of my black friday purchase. It was split into 2 order numbers!

I am not gonna say this will happen to you. This happened to me years ago and everyone has different experiences. Just beware of these timed mail in rebate deals that try to set you up just in case.

Laptops would be min 15% restocking fee anyway...ever since Newegg bastardized their return policies, they lost ALOT of direct business, but unfortunately a sucker is born every day and gained new suckers to pay restocking fees while a big or amazon box eats them.
