What makes this slick is a nearly free or very cheap upgrade for people that already have amazing deals on older T-mo plans, especially since those plans often are excluded from these kinds of deals.

Yes, you should always factor in the plan cost, and a cheap phone where you dramatically overpay on monthly service is not a good deal. If you want to do that, you probably want a deal at Verizon Smilie
Exactly... For those who will continue to use Tmobile because they are grandfathered into a old cheap plan, this is a good deal.. I'm in a family plan with a S22+, S21 and 2 iphone 14s and constantly looking to get newer phones without having to pay 600-700$ for the phones.. Even though its 24 month credit, whether I use this phone or gift it to someone or sell it on ebay, it's better than an having an iphone 12 mini or S21 that's collecting dust and losing Trade-in-value.. I might get this and seell it off to get a credit that I can use it towards a samsung/apple flagship phone..

Ok, it looks like I can finally get rid of my S21 (I currently have a S24 Ultra) on my Simple Choice plan. Will use the P9 as a gift or backup. Any catch here? For some reason I have a gut feeling I'm going to have trouble with this trade in, like the SC plan doesn't qualify
login into your account and check it out.. i just did and it works for my very old One Plan..

Are there any Pixel "on us" deals for Pixel 6a owners to upgrade to?
While $400 trade in for the 6a is solid, I was hoping to upgrade with nothing or very very little out of pocket
You could always grab a used Galaxy S10e from Swappa (~$100) and use that as an $800 trade-in. Keep the 6a as a backup.

Does my trade in need to be the same device I'm currently using on the plan? As in if I bought an s9 to trade in, do I need to use it on my plan by placing a few calls before trading the s9 in or can I just trade it in without the s9 being active or known as being my phone on my tmobile plan?
And any issues with trading in a phone with some screen burn in?

No, it just has to match whatever you enter at the time of purchase. So...as far as I know, you do need the IMEI of whatever phone you're trading when you place your order. On the screen burn-in question, I have no idea, but I personally wouldn't risk it to find out. I'd much prefer to buy something for $100-$150 that I knew would pass inspection and get me the $800 credit. Even if it "only" creates a mess that you can eventually back out of and return the pixel (which isn't at all guaranteed), it's likely that a similarly good deal won't be around by the time you accomplished that.

You can trade in any s9 (does not need to be activate on your plan)

I have a Samsung S20 FE. It's 4 years old but still performs great. Should I take this offer for a Pixel 9?
I traded mine for a pixel 8 due to S20FE battery just werent holding up for the daily usage.

The looks and feel is about the same I might even miss some FE features. But it's nice not have to recharge once during the day to get by.

I'm thinking that the $35 DCC waiver might only work for the addition of a new line. 😕

Same issue. Someone on reddit said it was working yesterday, but not today. They were able to get it waived after placing order.
