Since the phone is "On Us with trade" Via 24 monthly bill credits, then the phone won't be paid off until 2 years later (after 24 monthly bill credits). Meaning you can't Unlock the phone until 2 years from the time the phone has been active on the T-Mobile network on the requesting line.

That's impossible, how can I mail it and have them receive it the next day? They should have an expiration date at least a week or two away, so that I can first receive and activate the new Pixel 9, copy stuff over (if needed), delete all my personal info from the Pixel 6 ("You will remove all Device data and personal information, passwords, security software, or user locks."), then ship it to them and leave time for shipping carrier to get it to them.
So I reluctantly backed out at the final step.

Great question. So what will happen as long as it is the same phone, you will get a message that says that the device is not the same, but it will give you the same deal. It just revises things.

There is a good likelihood that you'll be fine. Folks are just saying you might need to call in to fix the IMEI after the trade-in. I have had to in the past for the same situation. I would say just don't assume the system will take care of everything automagically, like the agent mentioned.
