I'm on simple choice and I qualified. Already traded in two phones. One for a 9 pro xl and one for a regular 9. If you go to the product page and try from there it's gonna keep trying to add a line for the promo. You have to go to the number's profile and select upgrade from there.

Does Costco take your old phone for trade in or do you send it? I'm hesitant to send. Know someone who sent in 2 pristine phones and Google claimed both didn't work and gave a tiny credit instead of 800 each.

Be careful, it keeps trying to switch me to a different plan. I have T-Mobile one. It said 800 off but seems to only be if I change plans. Otherwise it's 500 off. Pixel 6

edit: I got it to work. app is very finicky.

Ordered this over the Pixel 9 regular 128GB. This is the 9 Pro XL with 256 GB and has the same trade in options, but is on sale for $1000, same price as the regular 9 Pro, which is also 256GB. I am on an older Simple Choice. No $35 fee and free 1-day shipping through the T-Life app is great.

Got this one my One plan, online so the $35 fee was wavied. Comes out to about $8 dollars and change over the course of 24 months. Got $800 off with a Pixel 7, a really great deal!
