Just an FYI this is the JA Henckels International Knives, not one of the higher-end Henkles knives (for which these are easily confused). They do not retail for $117, but are usually in the $60 to $70 range. Still, at this price its a very good knife and makes a good "first real knife" gift.
We have a set that says "international" on the blade plus the word Spain. They do not sharpen easily. FYI, I have 6 different sharpening stones plus a WORK*SHARP knife sharpening tool so I still can not get the sharpness close to razor sharp as suggested. NOW TO THE MAJOR PROBLEM, some of the larger handles have cracked at the rivets. The larger knife I have now has 5 separate cracks all of which end or start at a rivet. When I contacted the company for warranty replacement/repair they had near impossible demands to get them back to the company. There were lots of packaging rules materials required for a return shipment and in addition the quoted time for return was well beyond reason. As I recall the time was greater than a month after they received them. I attempted to repair them with epoxy. I, for one, will never purchase this brand again.
