I do like the 996s but that first pair looks beige not gray, also the second shoe looks like it's made of cat hair, very weird.

996 are super comfortable, but the sole doesn't last a while (500-750mi). I've worn to death about 8 pairs now and they're one of my favorite daily drivers.

Made in the USA in other countries are normally 200+$. This shoe line normally runs 125-175 made in Asia on international markets.

US and UK doesn't make a lot of 996 in general, but they dominate the markets in Japan/SK just because it's such a good causal shoe for walking a ton in.

I spent $130 on a pair of these about 15 years ago and they came unglued in 2 weeks of light use. Is quality any better nowadays?

Ordered a couple of pairs they both arrived without shoeboxes. Is this normal for Nordstrom Rack? Feels weird if I end up returning and don't have any boxes.

I also ordered a few pairs. It came in a big box with shoes inside wrapped in plastic. No traditional show box. I had the same concern.
