Do they ship the game as a physical or digital copy? If it's digital I assume once you install the game on your system you can't include the game when you resell the VR2?

Everyone here seems to be ignoring one big thing about Sony's support for this headset... Their support doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. Pretty much any current VR developer that isn't owned by Sony or Meta is developing their games for PSVR2 where they will look and run significantly better than a Quest 3. PSVR2 is way more immersive due to its better comfort, unique features (eye tracking, adaptive triggers, headset rumble), and OLED displays. It's not as clear cut as people are making it out to be. PSVR can be an absolute powerhouse compared to Meta, but it's not right for everyone. Do your research, there are pros and cons to both. For me, the ease of use and fidelity of the PSVR make it a better choice since I already owned a PS5 and don't have a high end gaming PC.

Are any of these retailers likely to accept a return on the system if the game has been activated? I'd like to try it, but it's maybe not worth the risk if I know I couldn't return it.
I mean, I'd have to have some kind of software to try it, right? Even if I didn't activate the Horizon code, it'd mean purchasing software that would be useless to me if I returned the headset due to motion sickness or something.

The lack of comments on this speaks volume...I was excited about this a while ago..now...not so much...same with the ps5 Pro...what is going on at Sony?

A lot of people have been able to return the product after redeeming the code -- for example, I think Sony lets you return it directly to them.
With that said, there are free demo's (including Horizon) for download, and quite a few 2D games also have a VR mode included for free (ie: Resident evil 4, Resident evil 8)

If you are prone to motion sickness, VR might not be the best fit for you.

I've always been a SONY and a PS fan, but it's definitely disappointing that they release so many unique and interesting products and then kind of just let them go and never reach their full potential. I guess the benefit is you can get the PSVR2 for $349 now!

I believe I had to pay an upgrade price on a few, to get the PSVR2 versions?), it lacks color passthrough, it's hard-wired, replacement parts aren't really available.. and future support seems kind of iffy? it just makes for kind of bit of a tough sell at what should otherwise be a "WOW" price

Until these stop giving me motion sickness I'll never buy them and I am a huge gamer of all systems

It looks like Best Buy has an open box version of this for $273. I want this for GT7 because I've heard great things about the experience, but I don't know if I'd use it for anything else. I don't really play a lot of games and if Sony isn't supporting it anymore, I'm confused about whether future games would take advantage of it. For example, does anyone know if GTA VI will support it when it comes out next year?

All the recent/new games are coming out for PSVR2 just as they are on Quest. Dunno why everyone is saying it's dead.

I'm having a hard time finding PSVR2 physical games, that are NA region, not PAL, and not sold by third party resellers. Are the games mainly digital for thr VR2}

It's really awesome for GT7, especially if you have pedals and a wheel. I can't wear it for long because it gives me headaches, but the experience is very immersive.

This idea that people keep repeating here that Sony abandoned PS VR2 is simply not true. It could be they will, but they haven't yet. They are probably referring to a report from back in March about Sony pausing production of the device until they cleared out unsold inventory, and how they haven't been supporting it much from their own 1st party studios. But they do still feature it in their state of play presentations and just recently on their blog they highlighted a bunch of new games coming to the platform, including Hitman VR, which is looking to be the best VR version of that game (look up reviews of the PC and Quest versions). There's also the new Metro game, which received good reviews and an upcoming Alien title.

Also, this sale is not retailers clearing out old inventory because most of them haven't had many of these in stock. This is likely an official Sony sanctioned promotion, just like the one they are currently doing for the PS5 and other accessories.

Even if Sony does end up abandoning it, since they added official PC support you can always continue using it there. It is considered to be great hardware after all.

Regarding the lenses, I haven't tried the Quest 3 and its pancake lenses, but unlike the first PS VR, the VR2 has a physical dial to adjust them to your IPD, so once you set that, which takes mere seconds, you should be good to go.

I think anyone considering a VR2 vs a Quest 3 should just go with the one that appeals to them more after reading through these comments, or do further research.

One other point to note is that the reason why the Quest has many great exclusives is because Meta aquired several of the best VR devs and are restricting their games to their headsets. So it's not that devs don't want to support PS VR2. In fact, one developer recently revealed that their game sold more copies on PS VR2 in 2 weeks than they sold in 7 months on Quest.

Anyway, if you have a PS5 and you're interested in the PS VR2, this bundle at this price is a great deal.

I bought this same bundle open box excellent from Best Buy in the summer and it arrived without the game voucher and most of the original packaging. Furthermore, the headset had some very noticeable deep scratches on it. Before I returned it, I downloaded all of the demos from the PS Store and tried it out. There is a demo for the Horizon game, so there's no need to redeem it, but clearly they will still accept the return if you do. So I recommend picking up an open box one from BB to try out the demos, and if it's in good condition you could keep it and save some money even if the game isn't included. If it's in poor condition, but you like it, buy a new one while it's on sale and return the first one.

There's been no news on GTA 6 supporting VR and it likely won't since they haven't supported VR in the past.

It is archaic wired fresnel tech and sony won-t fund games. They even abandoned their own vr mascot. This was doa and even more dead now.
