My PSVR2 had been collecting dust since owning MQ3. MQ3 is a combination of AR+VR, while PSVR2 is limited to VR games only. Even with with vr2-pc adapter release, I still used MQ3, mainly because of its wireless freedom movement. I can go to kitchen or backyard in the middle of playing games without taking my "helmet" off. I'm calling it a helmet because it consist of MQ3, fan, portable battery, and ANC headphone.
$350 is just right price for starters who never use VR. Dont forget, unlike MQ3, you have to own ps5 or high end pc+adapter to use it.
I am no VR expert but this item does look totally dead. Seriously its a huge bust for Sony. From what I read previously they have huge warehouses of them. But I can undertsand some with a PS5 trhat want to go for it. I think the price will go lower on this. Its a very tough sell with the Meta headsets out there. At originally $599 the price was insane on this. Everyone price matched this thing already to 350.00. Best Buy, Walmart, Dell, Gamestop,Playstation directly. This is no sale, its a reduction of the regular price becuase nobody will pay 500-600 for it.
Depends on your GPU. If your GPU has a USB-C VirtualLink port you just plug the single cable into the GPU and you're done. If you don't have a VirtualLink GPU you'll need to buy the PlayStation VR2 PC Adapter for $60 and connect to it through that. For me it works fine off the single USB-C cable into a RX 6800XT Reference card.
You'll also need Bluetooth for the controllers, the PC Adapter does not cover that. So if you have issues with your current Bluetooth you might need to pick up a compatible receivers. I had no compatibility issues with the onboard Bluetooth of my motherboard.
Once it's connected it is SteamVR compatible and you'll run the PlayStation®VR2 App found on Steam to setup the play area and update firmware as needed. If the specific simracing you're looking for goes outside of SteamVR you may need to verify it is good with that.

How's the pc compatibility for this for simracing?
If you have the converter box it's just fine. For the $300 you might like an Quest 3S as well but this one can also be used with your PS5 for wider coverage.

If you want the graphics and don't have pcvr then I think it's not really a fair comparison. The quest 3 standalone has nonsense graphics but better lenses yes

Haha for real. Some of the comments here are so dumb.
The psvr2 isn't worth it because Sony has put almost no effort into supporting it. This is coming from a vr1 owner. Got burned by that...

I think I agree with this. I'd be curious how many games there are for this vs the quest market place but it seems orders of magnitude smaller. I think quest is better entry point due to the sheer volume of games available.

Yeah it's a real shame, because the tech itself is fantastic. I had a blast with VR1 but it was only worth it at a steep discount. This headset might be worth it for $200

Yeah, they're getting rid of them and don't expect a lot of support on PS.
Anyone know if I can play Grand Turismo 7 on it and have my Moza 5 with adapter. Played Forza Horizon on XBox until MS blocked it (even with Brook Ras1ution adapter).

I'm in this boat. No way I'd pay 600 for a vr headset, especially when the consol itself wasn't even that much.
I own the vr1 and loved it minus the wonky controllers. Beat saber, job simulator, after the fall, and Arizona sunshine were all incredible experiences. I bought my vr1 used for $100 long after it passed its prime and had a blast.
I might bite at this price knowing full well it is at the end of its life.

OLED also has some issues on tradeoff, but the LCD and overall maturity of Meta Quest headset makes the experience almost streak free.
