At first glance this looks like a steal for a mid-high gaming rig. Oddly enough I can't find a review for this exact configuration of the Legion 5 16" so I have to make some guesses as to why it is available for so cheap.
EDIT---: Found a review:
https://www.pcmag.com/reviews/len...ro-5-gen-8
Pros:

Strong performance for the price
Quality build and port selection
Terrific keyboard
Webcam privacy shutter and USB-C or DC charging
Cons:

Display quality and battery life are just decent
Bulky and heavy
Very loud fans under gaming loads.
---Edit.

Digging a little deeper the AMD Ryzen 7 7435HS CPU has good mid-range gaming performance, but does not have integrated graphics. Why does that matter with a 4070 GPU on board? The 4070 pulls a lot more power than integrated graphics would, meaning that even when you're watching youtube or writing emails you are using the 4070 to drive the display resulting in significantly lower battery life than a laptop with both a discrete GPU (dGPU) and integrated or onboard graphics (iGPU).

The other red flag for me is that the listing doesn't specify how much power the 4070 RTX is allowed to use. Full power would be 140W TDP (115 W + 25W dynamic boost) but some laptops choose to provide less power, sometimes 60-80W TDP for the GPU in order to extend battery life or avoid overheating issues.
EDIT: I was able to find a more detailed spec and it looks like a full 140W TDP for the GPU.

With a height of 0.86" this laptop probably lacks a serious cooling solution required to control temps on a fully powered 4070. Also the power supply is listed as "230 Watt AC Adapter" where most full powered 4060 or 4070 laptops I see have a 330W AC adapter.

I have seen fully powered laptops with a good CPU with iGPU, FHD screen and 4060 GPU with a full 115W TDP listed on SD in the last few days for less than $800. I would recommend one of those over this laptop since you won't get the full value out of the 4070 without the 115W TDP, and a CPU with iGPU will allow much better battery life at least when you're not gaming.
Kinda surprised this isn't getting more attention. Seems like a solid deal for a rtx 4070.

Also, it's always a good idea to put "MicroCenter in store only" in the title for these types of deals as it won't be available to lots of people.

25+ in stock in Tustin CA (South of Los Angeles) when I looked.

It would be amazing if they'd actually let you buy items that are on sale and have them shipped to you instead of only pick up at store

It's been this price before, but lack of igpu killed it for me at least.

I got the intel i7 14700hx version of this. Amazing at playing many AAA titles at full resolution! Really love it. Wanted one more for my family, not sure about this one.
I got the intel version in June 2024 for $1200 from MC in Indianapolis!

Downvoting because of too much negative speculation. You say that it likely wasn't a full wattage 4070 and then corrected yourself and that was one of your main points. Most other things are also speculation. It seems like your whole point is 'price is too good so must be something wrong'. Lenovo legion 5s are historically awesome builds. I'd say this is the best 4070 deal I've ever seen. Where do you get that the fans are loud? Just because it's a 4070 and you assume?

It really depends on the use case. Amazing deal if you want to use plugged in all the time. Not so great if you want to do anything on battery for more than an hour.

It's because the listing is for a "4535 HS" CPU" as a typo...

That's fair.

I used to get a more full featured editor and I could strikethrough if new info came to light, but I haven't seen the strikethrough option in the comment editor in a while and I don't like to remove previous info from a post in case it was already replied to.

This is a better laptop than I initially thought although still poor on the battery life side of the equation compared to similar laptops with an iGPU. As long as portability is not a priority and you can live with a fairly dim screen, this should be an excellent gaming laptop.
