I strongly advise against using any phone holder that attaches to the air vents. I previously used a different brand in my car, and it ended up damaging the vents, leading to an expensive repair. If you need a phone holder, I suggest opting for one that sticks to the windshield or fits into a cup holder instead.

I have been using this exact model (Car Phone Holder Vent Phone Mount) on my Honda Odyssey for the last year or so, and I have been happy with it. The air vent did not show any damage so far.

Terrible product idea. Those vent fins are retained with tiny pins on either side, this will break those off the first time you bang something into this, leaving your car looking terrible. Just adhere a 3M pad to some flat price of plastic and mount something on for real.

For years, I have relied on air vent phone mounts with clamp-secure designs rather than simple clips. Even during moderate off-roading, I have experienced no issues with vent fins breaking on vehicles such as the Kia Telluride, Ford Expedition, GMC Sierra, Ford Mustang Mach-E, and my current Ford F150 Lightning. I'm in California where anything mounted on your windshield is technically illegal, and I also like to have full visibility and nothing blocking my view.

I use this in my truck, vent mounted. It actually holds super tight, which I was surprised by.

It's a really nice design - when not using it, it doesn't block all your air flow like most vent mounted holders. Plus the mechanism is really simple, just drop it in to hold, pull it straight up to free. No buttons, squishing sides, etc.

Agreed. I had the same model from a couple of years ago. All of a sudden the phone fell down and the little inverted tongue that holds the mount broke and fell inside the vent. Though the mount works well, the part that holds it at one place is weak.

The non-Magsafe Car Phone Air Vent Mount does not work well in landscape mode.

I really like this design that has the "hook" at the end. My wife has this in her car and it stays on very well. I have the "pinching" style one in my car, and it falls off and needs to be reattached about once per month.

I had one very similar - loved it, until WINTER TIME when the heat from the vent destroyed my phone!!!
I made this account just to save someone from that pain.

Most modern phones have a heat warning and won't just let themselves cook.
Also, if you use a vent holder and know you need the heat on for a long time.... Use the floor vents.
