Excellent deal. We will see how new enthusiast processors from AMD and Intel will perform in the next year but if you need a good "creator" PC now this is a good choice.
"Wait until the next one comes out" is about as ubiquitous of a Slickdeals trope as "is it IPS? is it LFP? does it have HDMI? can I return it years later? how can i buy 10 of them to resell? should i contact the seller about this price mistake?"
Just picked this up recently. It's an incredible machine for the price and this is a decent price compared to similarly spec'd machines. My only complaint is coming from a MacBook Pro, this 330w charger is huge / bulky. lol. Other than that, I'm super happy. Will play pretty much any game I've thrown at it on ultra graphics settings and is a beast editing 4k video from my Sony a7S III in Davinci and editing photos in Lightroom. 10/10 would recommend!

Agreed. I needed the write off before the end of the year and my MacBook isn't cutting it anymore. As much as I would've loved to wait for the 5000 series graphics, I needed a new editing machine. Just so happens it's an amazing gaming laptop too which the MacBook is not… I'm a happy customer.

How bad is this whole "Intel 13th and 14th Gen CPUs slowly cook themselves" thing? People say processors deteriorate over time and eventually unalive themselves shortly after they are out of warranty. Is this true or overblown?

If you're buying a genuinely new PC it's not a concern. Update your BIOS to the latest version and take the 1-2% performance hit and never worry about it again.
It will be perfect if there is 64GB memory. But it is really good. If I am not waiting for a desktop, I would grab this one. Actually I am asking myself if a desktop is a must.
I have a bit concern about the heat dissipation from a laptop.

I wished I made enough $$ yearly to even worry with write offs 😔😔 don't ever take your life for granted. Cherish what you have my guy ! Maybe one day I'll get there, but def havent yet
How is this compare to MSI's Vector? Saw a similar spec for $1399 at B&H, was thinking I can add leverage all the 2TB SSD deal for about 100.00. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/pr...16_hx.html

Because you need 64GB for......? 32GB is more than enough for gamers. 64GB is overkill for gamers and not need.
Heat dissipation is good in Legion 7 Pro laptops and if you get a cooling pad, it'll drop it another few degrees.
If you want the absolute full power that a CPU and GPU can give you with the most FPS at 4k then get a desktop.
Other than that the mobile 4090 isn't no slouch either but doesn't compare to the desktop version.
Recently bought Lenovo laptop.. the Lenovo patches they push and you are prompted to install. It bricked my laptop. Warranty allowed me to mail to repair.. it's going to be a month b4 I might get it back. It needs a new hard drive but a month is needed. Omg should you even consider Lenovo??
