Yeah I have this headset and it's great. A couple minor flaws (there's a slight hum if there's no sound with sidetone on and the weight is super heavy lol) but the sound and mic are excellent.

Yeah the magnetic planar drivers add weight but that's what makes it sound incredible. This gaming headset is top rated on rtings.com. Now I just hope wicked cushions comes out with a Black Friday deal so I can upgrade the ear pads.

Yeah, that's what I did with mine. I'm surprised they don't have a sale live yet if so. These are the ones I went with but yeah, they're still $30 (not on sale). [amazon.com] Looks like they now also make a headband for it (don't know why but yeah) [amazon.com]

They don't fold, the ear cups only rotate. No anc but I find the passive nc pretty good. They're bulky and heavy so I wouldn't use these for travel.

This is just a guess, but the replacement headband may be in case the included headband starts to deteriorate (ie if it's a pleather material)

If I remember correctly the mic quality on this sucked so I didn't buy these based on reviews. Is that true?

The mic is actually one of the stand out features, especially with its AI noise canceling abilities. The main drawbacks of this headset are the insane weight and the many QC issues. You can google it to see the various problems people have had with it

this is a good deal... darn, I have the Penrose. I have no problem with it except the battery life. The wireless connection is terrible but I don't move far anyway. should I upgrade? no room to put all these headphones
