This is blatantly FALSE. Standard controllers have a 90-day warranty (elite are 12-months now, used to also be 90-day). Further, Microsoft does not consider stick drift to be a manufacturer defect and will not replace/repair solely for that reason.
they're all stick drift edition now. you'll be lucky to get 4-months out of one before its unusable.
This. If you're smart you'll spend a little more on a controller with Hall effect sensing. Like the 8Bitdo Ultimate Bluetooth Controller that was sold a few days back.

I have 3 XBox Wireless Controllers and 2 8bitDo Ultimate Bluetooth Controllers.
I tell you the Xbox is significantly more comfortable especially with anything more than 30 min sessions.

Without a doubt! but you can send them on warranty and Microsoft will fix it and hopefully wont do that again until like after the year of the warranty expires like it happen to me.
are these the drift stick edition? where is that guy
Can't be as bad as the Switch's. My wired Xbox360 controller still functions fine, and gets used routinely on my PC. It is almost 20 years old! And it's finally failing - what failed? The strain relief rubber around the cord has detirotate. Holy cow that thing is built like a tank.
But it's time for a new one. Can these new xb1 controllers be run in wired mode? Those small USB connectors do not look strong, not 20 years strong. Intended use is 100% PC games, so I don't like dealing with batteries and charging, ect. The thing can go months unused, and then get used almost 24/7 until a game is beat.

That's the thing to do. I've done it several times. Microsoft has honored the warranty every time.
