Nice deal! Have only had one controller so finally picking up more to play with the nephews.

Anyone have any recommendations for their favorite 4 person local co-op games that are available through Gamepass Ultimate?
sadly, online gaming nearly killed off the local co-op

i spent months trying to find different games to play with the kids, only found a few

ended up just getting Xbox Series S for each to just be able to play together

Limit 2 per color if it hasn't already been mentioned so you can get 4 for this price.

Is the stick drift issue really that bad? Why do people keep buying these even though its got so many issues? Does it have a monopoly in the controller market with no better alternatives or what?

No it's not. They must really abuse their controllers. I alternate between being a heavy gamer and light gamer depending on what good games come out and am still using the 2 controllers I get the day the XSX released over 4 years ago. If you treat them right they last pretty long

When did that change? I bought my elite controller about 8 months ago and it had a year warranty. I just sent it back for a claim...
From what I remember the elite controller was given a longer warranty due to so many people having problems with the series 1. The uproar was pretty big because it was a $200 controller that wasn't lasting anywhere close to the regular controllers.

Well, that's why you register your controller with Microsoft. It has a1 year warranty. I've sent multiple back and gotten new ones in about a week or so. I actually just sent my elite controller in on Thursday so I would be receiving my new one within the next week or so. It pays to register and make a claim when you feel any type of stick drift.
This is blatantly FALSE. Standard controllers have a 90-day warranty (elite are 12-months now, used to also be 90-day). Further, Microsoft does not consider stick drift to be a manufacturer defect and will not replace/repair solely for that reason.

they're all stick drift edition now. you'll be lucky to get 4-months out of one before its unusable.
I'm not doubting that stick drift issues are prevalent, but how heavy handed are you guys on your controllers to get stick drift this consistently? I've never experienced in my life, I had a switch, have a ps5, and use an Xbox controller on my PC and I've always been drift free.

Regardless the big 3 need to do better at having drift resistant controllers based on how often they happen. Hall effect should be standard next gen

Also the ninja turtle shredders revenge.

Then get Battle Crashers. It's under $15 most places.

This is how I see it. I've been using cobtrollers for a long time and I've had maybe one of my 360 controllers give out. My daughter wrecks them all the time and my son has 1 that's gone out.

I game very lightly, yet I constantly get stick drift issues. Most intense gaming I did in my life for the period of time when Google Stadia was in business ( basically was trying to get most out of the subscription cost). I never had the drift issue with the only stadia controller I had. Stadia controller analog sticks had some kind of silicone layer on top of it and those layers were destroyed by the abuse yet no stick drift. People do get this issue more frequently with xbox controllers than you would think.

This. If you're smart you'll spend a little more on a controller with Hall effect sensing. Like the 8Bitdo Ultimate Bluetooth Controller that was sold a few days back.
A lot of their controller don't have a replaceable battery which is completely insane.

I've used both myself, the drift stick issues are a big enough reason for me to avoid these now.
They've even lowered the warranty to 6 months, since most fail after the 6 months warranty. I'm tired of wasting extra time and gas to swap/repair on this generations cheaper products.
Legit, I found the 'Elite v2' on clearance for $85 @Wallys, damn thing lasted 7 months. Granted, WAS a great controller; but 7 months for a device that retails for $180 is absolute rubbish. The fact they're reducing warranty to 6 mos SCREAMS of failing platform. Not gonna support a company that doesn't support us back.

Exactly, it's hard to watch as someone who picked the OG Xbox decades back. I want to support Microsoft, but they're purposely cutting off their own noses with the lack of quality control. It's made me skip this generation's consoles all together.
Also bizarre how many people still defend them with downvotes over controllers quality.
