Looking for a gaming pc for my 10 year old. I've built but been over 20 years. What would be a good prebuilt or parts for a build for a gaming pc. Will play Fortnite and various others…~$700ish
this combo + a 6750xt or 7600xt (whichever is cheaper)

Not familiar with that…like I said, I haven't built in 20 years. I know I can still build them, I just don't know what is good and what exactly I need anymore

So I recently got the other deal with the Ryzen 7 5700X (no 3D), free 32gb ram, a b550 mobo, and a cooler for $240osh. How does 3D cpu compare? Is it a huge upgrade that it's worth a return and rebuy with this chip?
if its for only gaming, yes. If you do cpu intensive tasks, the 5700x is clocked higher

Thank you. I don't know what else besides that I need though. I don't want to buy something not compatible - do you have any suggestions on ram, hd, ps, etc? Or somewhere I can plug those items in you suggested and compatible parts will pop up?

That 5800X with RAM for 120$ a couple months ago seemed like a better deal to me. Wish it would come back for BF. Or even something spicier. 280$ is too much $$$ for me...

What about this compared?

the 5700x3d would perform better in games at 2k res. and the 6750xt is a little quicker than the 4060. But that is a good price for a prebuilt and itll run fortnite well

I think it's a good deal. They had almost the same combo not a few days ago. A AMD Ryzen 5700x, Asrock B550m Pro SE and G.skills 2x16GB ddr4 combo for $200. A way better CPU, Mobo and same RAM kit. For an extra $80? I think it's worth it.

This really depends on your budget. After adding a cooler and tax, this combo is going to be almost twice as expensive.

https://pcpartpicker.com/

Tells you compatibility concerns and tracks the wattage your build will need so you can pick the right PSU.

I had an AM5, sold it as it wasn't much of a jump. I got the 4070 from the other thread, saw barely any difference in the games I was playing. Staying on 5700X3D 👍.

I had the 9800X3D I bought locally from Central Computers here in the Bay Area.

League of Legends and StarCraft and Heroes of the Storm saw no improvement.
