We have a bunch of APC ones. Eventually the batteries all go to shit. APC branded replacements are insanely expensive, if they even sell it.

We have found that this company (below link) usually has something that is compatible. And the battery lifespan tends to last much much longer than the original one and are very high quality. We use them for CyberPower ones as well
Whatever you do, don't buy Mighty Max batteries from Amazon, they truly don't last

Replacement and Recycling of Batteries:
This product is specified as "non-user replaceable battery) but this is not true. It's just that it's not super cost-effective combined with only "1-year" warranty on battery replacements vs. 3-year warranty on new units. So Schneider Electric (the manufacturer) recommends trashing the whole unit.

HOWEVER, you can easily find battery replacements online and some are quite good.
Cost is $20-30 for a battery. I consider that cost effective.

Replacement/installation requires a long, Philips-head screwdriver. That's all.

Make sure you have a long, about 10 inches phillips screwdriver. The screws are all the way down a really small hole at bottom of unit. The screwdriver has to be really thin also to get to the screw. I had to go and buy one.

These newer ones use slim type batteries which aren't as popular as the more rectangle sized 12v 7AH batteries which go for $20. I'm having a hard time sourcing them for <$40 which makes a new one for $50 just a better deal.

650 va is 650w or lower with efficiency loss
Its runtime is 2min, so it's more like 20wh or 0.2ah

Of course, but why? It is already a surge protector, and you can't have loads greater than 650va * 0.8 = 520w. If it is overloaded, it will constantly beep and annoy the hell out of you. If you use it to power a few security cameras, a modem and a router, it is fine, but it is not ideal for a PC. if you have a gaming rig i could recommend for at least 1500va

Which size do I need for a Mac mini m4, 55" TV, and a sound bar? I just need it to run long enough to finish my task and have it safely shut it all down.
i think this will give you a 2-3 minute runtime with that equipment. The TV being the most hungry.

Just checked the specs....
It says 4 hours of runtime for Wi-Fi router
That's very short.. That means POE switch will be even shorter.
I will stick with the Costco $130 or cheaper with rebate deal on huge UPS I think that one is 1300VA?
I guess these can be good for Amazon Alexa or Echo devices so you can still control your network during outage.
It seems the Costco one and this one are similar in terms of $ / battery size. Cyberpower ones have avr but maybe less efficiency with lower load. Looks nicer also. I'd stick with that if you ask

False, 650va means the max loadout. Converting to watts is 650va*0.8 = 520w, so it will only be capable of supporting a total power consumption of 520w. Anything more than that will cause overload and beeping. the power in battery needs lookup the model, i looked up it is only 360w

Yeah that's correct. A factor of 0.8 for typical appliances but might be higher for router, etc. Anyway the point is 650va is magnitudes lower than 650ah

I have this BVN650M1. It's battery is replaceable with a screwdriver. This model has no PowerChute data port.

I guess these can be good for Amazon Alexa or Echo devices so you can still control your network during outage.

just FYI VA value means nothing about how much power the battery. it means the max power load capacity it can support. for example, Costco CyberPower 1350VA/810Watts: 1350va *0.8 = 1080watt means it can support a max 1080 watt power consumption. more than that will cause overload and warning beep. and 810 watts is how much power the battery has.

This deal's UPS has 650va/360watt means supports up to 520w power consumption with 360w battery. the power consumption it should support your router and POE switch but not battery. if you wish for a very long battery life, you might need to learn how to attach a car battery to UPS. because car battery carries way more power. for example a 600CCA car battery carries 600cca*12v=7200watt

I have this - I wouldn't use this for a PC or server since it doesn't have a USB but it's really convenient for a router + modem since keep them up forever and the small profile means it'll fit in a small closet network closet if you have one
That's what I was thinking
However, the ones I've had and it's been a while yes... None had the ability to completely silence alarms.

Because if the power goes out in the middle of the night I do not need a screeching alarm about my broadband that I'm not using because it's the middle of the night.

Plus it takes care of it so again, if you've switched to battery power just do that quietly please.

Can this be completely silenced other than going in and tearing out the speaker all together?

APC started installing smaller batteries into these units. They run a self test every 20 days or so. It will play a continuous high alarm at you when the battery doesn't pass the test which is around 2-3 year mark.

Can this be used wit the newer PowerChute Network Shutdown or the older PowerChute Personal Edition? I didn't see a cable included.
