NB shoes ending in 60 are stability shoes, ideal if you overpronate. NB stability shoes were once the gold standard of running and walking stability shoes. Its 1260/860 lines were strongly recommended by foot experts. Overweight folks and people with bad knees swore by these models. They were sturdy, a bit heavy, and provided excellent support. The company eliminated the 1260 line (now some Fresh Foam model) and made significant changes to the 860 model. Lighter shoes but smaller toe boxes, stretchier material, squishier soles, and overall more narrow body. If you are 20-750 lbs overweight and looking at a stability shoe, there are better options.
I have the 860v14 but purchased at retail to try on. I definitely enjoy them and think it's a greatshoe, great for flat feet folks. How is the v13 vs v14? I would rather have (2) v13s than (1) v14 potentially if the differences are miniscule.
Any feedback or opinions? Thanks!

The New Balance Fresh Foam X 860 series is renowned for its stability and comfort. The transition from the 860v13 to the 860v14 introduces several key updates:
Midsole and Cushioning:
• 860v13: Features a Fresh Foam X midsole with a 10mm heel-to-toe drop, providing a firm yet cushioned ride.
• 860v14: Incorporates an updated Fresh Foam X midsole with an 8mm drop, offering a softer underfoot feel. The stack height has increased by 2mm, enhancing cushioning.
Stability Features:
• 860v13: Utilizes a traditional medial post for stability, which can feel firm to some runners.
• 860v14: Replaces the medial post with a Stability Plane—a thin plastic plate running the shoe's length—providing a more subtle and integrated stability experience.
Upper Design:
• 860v13: Equipped with an engineered mesh upper that offers structure and breathability.
• 860v14: Features a newly engineered mesh upper with slight stretch, accommodating various foot shapes and enhancing comfort.
Weight:
• 860v13: Approximately 10.5 oz (298 g) for men's size 9.
• 860v14: Slightly lighter at around 10.45 oz (296 g) for men's size 9.
In summary, the 860v14 offers a softer, more cushioned ride with a refined stability system and an improved upper design, enhancing overall comfort and performance compared to the 860v13.
Shoe marketing/model are so confusing! fluff about looks, not about performance, comfort,
which NB shoes are better for walking for hours when traveling. size 9 4E
Yes! They tend to sell sneakers in the $30 range multiple times a year. It's only a matter of waiting for the sneaker that you want to drop that low. Happy shopping!

But can you get said options for $35...?
I asked this because that's typically what the sneakers drop down to with Joe's New Balance Outlet.
FYI
It's my 1st time buying from Joe's. Probably great company but be sure it's 100% it's what size and model you want before placing an order. My order was placed and not even ship but no alteration when I called.

It is rare that good stability sneakers run $35, so this could be a great price on OK sneakers. But if your feet and knees hurt after wearing a pair of sneakers resulting in you not wearing them, it doesn't matter how little you paid.
My 860 arrived and I was pretty happy with the comfort level. Now I really want to try the 1080 or even purchase one if they have a deal like Champs for sure. Thanks

Added a zero by mistake. That should read 75 lbs.
