Get the ones with offset heads so you have clearance for your knuckles. These have limited usage, and when you go to work on something where these are impractical because of the application after so many times, you'll basically just forget you even have these and go right for a ratchet. Mine sit idle in their own drawer and I hardly even remember I have them anymore.

You need the reversable ones with the offset angle. These aren't worth buying at any price IMO.

Reversible ratcheting wrenches handle less torque and have a thicker head profile, making them less useful for the limited access places where you might need a ratcheting wrench vs a standard ratchet. I find the flex head version of these to be more useful, but this is a good starting set and it's nice that it dosen't skip sizes.

Higher torque anything you should really be reaching for a non-ratcheting box wrench or breaker bar. I do like my GW ratcheting offset wrenches, but I think HF now has a set thats pretty close in price and i suspect easier warranty (in-store)

I agree the limited torque these handle compared to the standard wrenches in the larger sizes makes them less useful. The other issue with ratcheting wrenches is the mechanism gets gunked up with debrie more easily than a standard ratchet since it's working direcltly around the fastner head. This is even worse with the reversible wrenches which have more moving parts. The mechanism on ratcheting wrenches is also not accesible to be taken apart and cleaned like on standard ratchets. Best way to clean them is to work the mechanism around with a light machine oil to free the debrie.

If I was putting together a set of wrenches from scratch, I would go with a standard and stubby length set of standard offset wrenches and a stubby set of flex head ratcheting wrenches.

Flex heads FTW. I still use the straight fixed heads fairly often but I really have not found an application where the offset/reversible ones are the only tool that works. Knowing what I know now and how I use my tools, I would just get a drawer full of flex heads and nothing else if I was starting over.

I find myself reaching for the double ended long reach spine drive set, more often than the standard flex heads.

With the added leverage of a long reach and the raised thin profile head makes it easier to work in tight areas and the spline drive grips fasteners better than a standard 12-point head.

I have a set of Icon flex head ratcheting wrenches and they're great. I almost never use my regular old wrenches anymore. The ratcheting feature is great.

Having a little button to reverse the direction is only necessary if the wrench has a fixed angle to it. Otherwise, it's easier to flip the wrench over than to fiddle with the little switch.
