Ordered a pair on Amazon, they sent me a pair that was already opened and carefully repackaged (back pull tab was missing easy to see it was an open package)
Had to CALL because Amazon chat is useless trash these days and after 45 minutes I received a tiny credit and a full refund.
Placed a second order, this time the case of the Airpods were scuffed up. Again another open box.
Once Amazon stops giving these "please keep shopping with us deals" on food/candy/water/random shit im out - products that are less than 6 months old should never be sent out as used.
Any Apple product that you get, such as watch, airpods, pencil etc. As soon as you activate it should show on your device (iPhone iPad) with a serial number.
Go to Bluetooth and click on i, all the info should be there.
If you don't see a serial number then it's fake.

fark you Jeff you greedy punk
Amazon doesn't benefit anything from sending you used item intentionally for new item purchase. The problem I see that exists, is that when some customers return their items, they are packaging the items "too nice" in a sense that when they arrive at the return center, workers there don't have the time / resources to carefully examine if the packaging has been opened or not. Obviously there are also some people intentionally steal the items and re-packaging them carefully, and / or they lied about the item package status when they initiated the return online (you have to answer whether you opened up the package for certain return reasons). This is a problem for major online retailers especially for Amazon since it sells many more items than most major retailers. Have said that, I too will try to buy big ticket item from bestbuy / target so if something were to go wrong, I can go talk to someone in person.
Be careful at target as well. I bought an Apple Pencil pro from them and could not get it to sync with my new iPad. I went to the Apple Store for tech support and they showed me it was a fake. They said it happens at target a lot
Wouldn't an easy way to find out if you have a fake Apple product be to just check the serial number of said product on Apple's website?
I just placed an order a few hours ago using the Amex discount and wasn't able to cancel and reorder at $154. I contacted Amazon CS and ended up getting the difference in Amazon Credit (albeit after escalating to a Supervisor). $81 total is a great deal.

What ended up happening?
I bought a real Apple Pencil pro at the Apple Store and then returned the fake back to Target so I didn't lose my money. This thing was a good fake. Sealed box and all. The Apple Store showed me how the logo on the pencil was a little different. It sucks having to watch for all this fake crap

At the time I wasn't even thinking it was fake, I thought it was defective. And do you really check the serial numbers of everything you purchase to see if it's legit? No way

This is what I want to know.
How can I determine if mine are fake or not?

Didn't you lose money either way? Since target had them on sale? Plus 5% red card?

No I don't and most people won't. I was mostly just asking that for future reference. I don't blame you at all for what happened with the pencil. 99% of people wouldn't have realized it was fake or thought to check either.
I just ordered one yesterday for 169$ from amazon. Any way amazon will price match it or do I have to return and order again?
Amazon really sucks at price adjustments. Most the time CS will recommend just returning and rebuying at the lower price. If you get a good CS they may give you credit back but it's slim.
I don't trust Amazon with all the fakes. Price match Best buy or Target.

True but hopefully they will still change the price of these on their website to "match" Amazon/Walmart
