Nope, You must activate with their service to begin with. Then once it reaches 60-days from the date of activation, your phone will fully unlocked
Without activation from the beginning, it will never ever going to be unlocked whatsoever.

I've been using this phone as a secondary. Main is an S24U. It's quite good if you set the right expectations

Pros
- Nice build, even though plastic, the leather back feels nice
- 1080p 120Hz display
- Pretty solid upper entry-level chip, does not lag at all in daily tasks
- 8GB RAM means you can multitask
- 128GB + microSD, I don't take many photos or videos with it, but the storage is there
- serviceable camera array. Main camera has OIS, which is nice on a budget device. Ultrawide is there just to say it has an UW. Photos come out very processed, but fine.
- Dual speakers, not the best, but OK. Call quality has no problems.

Cons
- Heavy af
- Too tall due to giant bezels, taller than my S24U
- Coming from the S24U, the keyboard is thin, making each button skinnier so mistyped keys are more frequent
- Low light photos and video are potato if you're used to flagship, but still fine for a budget phone
- Screen is not very bright, will not be readable in sunlight or even some overcast days
- Motorola software lacks features that say, OneUI has, but some might consider this a pro - honestly back maybe 4 yrs ago, stock Android vs custom skins was great but now manufacturers have so many actually usable features in their skins that stock is a bit underwhelming

I picked up 2 phones from Walmart and both have same issue. I called customer service to activate the phones and they said to go back to walmart. Then after some discussion , they asked me to send emailt to pop @ tracfone . com with proof of purchase and told me that in 48hrs , they should be able to verify the purchase and response back.

Sent the email and waiting for response.

Has it been confirmed (recently) if it will still unlock without activating a new monthly plan? No one seems to know if activating with current plan will unlock, new policy says "purchased" plan?
I don't know that.

But what I will try to get these rebranded to TF and get a new $15 plan.

H20 wireless has the phone for free with a $50 plan. Does anyone know if you can cancel after one month?

Did you have to port in a phone number, to get that Moto Edge 2024 deal, from Total wireless? And do you know if this deal is still available?

Also, did you specifically buy the phone, so that you could get it unlocked and use it with a different carrier?

If you wouldn't mind replying and share some more feedback about these deals that you reference, that would be appreciated.
Total requires port and also ID verification but not necessarily from non-VZ carrier. You can port from Visible and get a number for $5 with a referral code. Deal should still be available at Total with a few other phone choices. First line is pricier and you average out with the second line.

I am an iPhone user. So my Android purchases are for unlock purposes only and give them to family & friends. Expecting the Edge to be unlocked in a month. 🤞🏼 Service is already stopped.

Very smart. So you will use the sim card in the box and activate it with Tracfone so the unlock timer will start?

Got this phone on the last deal. Unlocked after 60 days automatically.
Has anyone experienced random button pushing while on calls from your face? It looks like the proximity sensor works where the screen is off but my phone is constantly opening the alarm or turning on the flashlight from the pull down menu. I can tell it's happening because I'm getting haptic feedback and tap feedback noises

Apology if this is a dumb question. Can I use it as an "iPod" without activating? Someone asked a similar question earlier. Walmart allows you to buy the phone without having to buy a plan in the same cart. My question is, will I be able to turn on and use it as an "iPod" without activating? Just wifi. Someone who has bought and done that - please share your thoughts!

It will play music but it won't be an iPod.

did you have to re-up twice (pay 2 months of service) or just pay one month of service and let it sit in inactive for the 2nd month for the phone to unlock?

You wont be able to use it on any other cellular network, but other than that it's a full fledged phone on WiFi - WhatsApp, google voice, etc. you'll need to activate those apps using a different phone number, of course..

The issue with buying prepaid phones from Walmart is that sometimes they don't scan it out properly. They need to scan the IMEI to confirm it's sold to the carrier. Not just the UPC.

If the carrier doesn't get this they don't have a sale record and refuse to activate it.

This, $40 vs Samsung A15 5G is free directly from straighttalk.com, which one is a better deal?
The Samsung A15 has an excellent AMOLED screen that's visible in full sun. I have it and it's solid and you get all the security and Android updates for 5 years. I have both and both are solid. Also the A15 has a better camera.

No it will unlock over wifi. You only need to have 30 days of service then wait for the unlock at 60 days.

type "help" then "UNLOCK" to 611611 to see your unlock date.

Can someone familiar with rebranding post a link or give an explanation? I already have a couple phones active with TracFone.
thanks
