At what point would you say it's worth it to upgrade an older X3000 series? Mine is still working great so I'm wondering if I'm really missing out on anything for my modest 5.1 setup. And I like that I have an HDMI AUX input on the front panel, unlike the newer models.

if you are only doing 5.1 and you re happy with your current AVR, then it is not worth spending another $1,000+

the Dirac coupon BF24 is for the upgrade to the various Dirac licenses, not the AVR. There is a separate SD thread on that topic: https://slickdeals.net/f/17924463-dirac-live-20-off

I would love to use the free 5 payment installment plan Amazon is offering. I need a new sub too so looking to pay cash for the sub and do the receiver on installments so I'm not taking $2k out of savings all at once.

Thanks. That's what I figured. For anyone on the fence, I would say that these Denon receivers are solid.

A handful of folks got burned by a Denon 6800 deal at Expo back in July. Pics of broken Styrofoam and other oddities can be found online.

Do report back if you have no issue w/your 3800 order!

I meant do you think they will lower their price to match this one at some point this week? Often they do that with items.

This is concerning regarding Denon and Marantz brands.

I had seen that as and posted a similar article earlier
For the short term it should mean bigger discounts from MSRP
Probably a wake up call they need to be more competitive with their pricing
Those 25% ish price increases, this last model round, place their products in the luxury category in some cases

In my opinion, they are not worth that...but time will tell
Companies like profits, if they feel the audio group is pulling them down and it will continue , they will make changes.
I would bet on that, though I am not sure who would be interested in taking this on

The trigger for Amazon seems to be Best Buy or Walmart

Well if they don't drop price, I will just end up ordering the integra 3.4 for $649 from Adorama. I only run a 5.1 setup anyway in my open loft on the 2nd story of my house. Just really wanted the denon because everyone loves it but I'm not going to overpay for it.
