These are on sale for $20 for an internet-connected smoke alarm, similar to Nest Protect (do they still make those)? The price does drop to $20 occasionally throughout the year according to tres camels.

It looks like it's completely powered by batteries, good for those homes that don't already have an interconnect setup or hard-wired smoke detectors. Personally I'd still prefer interconnect over a smart device if available. Who needs smoke detectors anyways? 🤪
