The front glass is "hardened mineral crystal" rather than sapphire but for the price I can't complain as it otherwise meets my requirements for a clean-looking, entry-level watch with constant illumination.
I was originally looking at the Luminox Sea Turtle series but opted for the 3501 in this deal for two reasons:
- The 3501 has illuminated markers for every hour around the perimeter, rather than every other hour on the Sea Turtle. This makes it quicker and easier to read in the dark.
- The 3501 has "up to 200 meters water resistance" vs. 100 meters in the Sea Turtle, which offers additional peace of mind.
MyGiftStop also says they are an "authorized dealer" but I'm hoping I never need to put that claim to the test.
