For some reason, this took a little bit of work. I've had two previous accounts that I've been canceled, but I wouldn't give me the offer so I had to use an alternate email address and alternate credit card as well to get the offer to work.

The CEO just let slip on an earnings call that Disney makes more profit on the ad-supported version so the ad-free price was increased to drive people to the ad-supported version.

I got this last year, we canceled midway through the 12 months, commercials are HORRIBLE today… every time one came on I had to mute the television and look away…I wouldn't watch the commercials even if Hulu paid me shake head

I'm wondering the same thing. Just got billed $3.43 after setting mine up with PayPal.

It's tax. Some states, like mine, charge tax on items ordered on line. I believe it's tied to the zip code on your credit card.

Lmk when non ads deal is around. The older I get less I wanna watch 20 to 30% of a tv episodes as ads. I prefer my 20 mins per episode of ads time back.

How you used to watch cable tv back then?

wow, its cheaper than Amex BCE deal which makes it 4$/year but this is 3$/year. Thinking if I should create a separate account and cancel my current subscription.

It looks like Ads on Movies are a lot better than on Shows/hourly episodes?

Any other Ad observations? I've just stopped watching episodes/shows on some of these ad sevices. Even Prime has become unbearable.

When the ads play the volume is always louder than what you were watching before. It's a dealbreaker for me.

Some of ya are complaining about commercials. Maybe it's different based on location?
For a two hour program I might get 5 minutes of commercials. They are very minimal. For $1 that's not bad at all. I use the commercials for bathroom breaks.

These ads are so obnoxious. I think I'd rather just pay for ad-free Disney+ for a month, binge watch everything I wanted to (Andor S2), then cancel.

Signed up through Disney+, confirmed it was Disney Hulu plan, but Hulu simply doesn't recognize my subscription when I log in. Super weird.

I assume it's because I had used that email with Hulu before and it had trouble linking it or something

I ran into the same problem and I needed to activate the Hulu subscription on Disney+.

Here's what I shared a few days ago in Post #643:

...For those who signed up for the $2.99 bundle deal through Disney+ and are having trouble signing into Hulu, instructions are here:

https://help.disneyplus.com/artic...login-hulu

Activating your Hulu subscription
If you signed up for the Disney Bundle or the Disney+, Hulu, Max Bundle, you'll need to activate your Hulu subscription before you can log in and start watching on the Hulu app. You only need to activate your subscription one time. If you have not activated your Hulu subscription, you will be unable to log in to Hulu.

A link to activate your Hulu subscription will be emailed to you, or you can follow the steps below to activate your Hulu subscription:

Go to DisneyPlus.com on a mobile or web browser
Select your Profile
Select Account from the drop down
Under My Services, select Hulu
You'll be automatically redirected to Hulu to complete your account setup
Enter the email address and password used to access Disney+*
Fill out the remaining fields (name, etc.)
Select Continue to complete the activation process

But, for whatever reason, this hasn't worked for everyone.

Good Luck!

Can I cancel the subscription immediately and still keep it for one year, or will it end right away?

Deal is every year.

In for 1. Here's my first impression.

4x1.5min unskippable ads in a 24min episode (1 when you start the episode, 1 after the intro, 1 "mid-episode commercial break", 1 by the end of the episode. It's a pretty well established pattern, at least for the ~7 episodes I consumed so far.

I have the Amex Platinum, so $20/mo streaming credit. They dropped Sirius, so the only thing I can use it for is Disney/Hulu (I used November credit to get Peacock for the year for free). I'm thinking the best value is to sub to no ads Disney, then this 99c Hulu and Starz add on, which should put me right at the $20. If I do the Diseny/Hulu no ads bundles, it'd be $20 plus tax, so have to pay the tax, plus no Starz. I don't watch a ton of Hulu so ads aren't too big of a deal. They kill me on Disney tho during Marvel and Star Wars shows. Anyone have a better plan or gotchas?

I'm usually doing something on my laptop or phone when the commercials are on. After a while you get into the rhythm where you don't even notice them.

I got greedy, and have inadvertently locked myself out of this Slickdeal. Jumped on the deal for 6 mos of Hulu for $2.99 and Disney+ for $2 the day prior to this deal being released, thinking that was going to be the best deal. I just tried to switch to this new deal for 1 year $2.99 for both Hulu and Disney+ with my other email, and was offered Hulu only for $1, but Hulu+Disney+ for $10.99. Any ideas how to fix this?
