For some reason, this took a little bit of work. I've had two previous accounts that I've been canceled, but I wouldn't give me the offer so I had to use an alternate email address and alternate credit card as well to get the offer to work.

The CEO just let slip on an earnings call that Disney makes more profit on the ad-supported version so the ad-free price was increased to drive people to the ad-supported version.

then you simply have to pay a lot more. you can't expect to watch no ads and pay a buck or two. you can but you shouldn't.
the streaming services have to pay for the content from somewhere.

You could also buy the content outright on iTunes/Amazon video/etc

Too many ads on the Disney stuff. If you wanna watch those Marvel, SW, and Disney movies, just pick an ad free sub for one month and binge. It's rather immersion breaking to watch the tentpole movies on Disney and be frequently interrupted by ads.

Do you have time to watch all the Disney animated movies, the marvel movies, Star Wars franchise in one month? It's too much.

Sweet. Is there a way to bump up to ad free version at a discounted rate ? Was paying the $30/mo for hulu/disney+/espn+ no ads and just closed that account and signed up for this one for hulu/disney+ w/ ads. Would love to have a discounted rate without tho 😬

I'm wondering the same thing. Just got billed $3.43 after setting mine up with PayPal.
I chatted with the service advisor who said it was taxes. Seems like 44 cents is a lot of tax on $2.99.

The ads are pretty bad. They're frequent, 2+ minutes, and often repetitive. A $1 is a $1, but IMO use the paid version to watch shows, then cancel when you're not.
The ads are so horrible I did not feel that it was worth any cost. It's worse than Roku TV. 2 Minutes of ads. You know what was worse? This literally happened to me. There was a glitch and after watching 2 minutes of ads, I had to keep rewatching the ads over. And after closing the app and turning it on, I watched another 2 minutes of it and then it worked again. It was at least 6 minutes of ads and that was a nightmware.

I would pay anything to not have to see advertisements on any platform. Guess that puts me in the minority here.

Just did my annual signup. I went back to an email account I used three years ago and no problem. Canceled the current contract.
