Purchased this model. Will check how is 8GB RAM going for regular browsing and small office work.
It's fine. Though I'd argue that with only 8 gigs, there's marginal improvements in actual usage vs an i3...

8gb makes it virtually impossible to run virtuals . There isn't enough memory to do anything.

Would have been hotter than a 18 year old Britney spears if it was 16gb ram.

At 8gb it's just the 2024 one with a shaved head

The RAM is soldered on, so no upgrades

Assuming this is "like new", in MS packaging as I have received from other sales from Ebay, sweet deal.
"Like new" usually means overstock from MS in years past and are very nice machines.
Ordered one, hope it doesn't disappoint.
Surface 3 and newer are EZ SSD upgrades, remove bottom 4 screws, lift out mag keyboard, unscrew SSD and replace.

In theory you can remove the RAM chips and solder new ones, but would require extensive familiarity with a station and semiconductor engineering. : )

This appears to be equipped with 256GB, not 512GB. The listing detailed specs show 512 but the item title and description show 256.

in 2025, all 8gb laptops should be trashed or banned.

Ram is so cheap why cripple machines with 8gb ram.

One would think consumers are smart enough to look at ram specs in this day in age.

My company uses these with 16GB RAM as dev boxes. Works just fine with VS Professional and Docker running.
