FYI: You need to ensure Motorola receives your trade-in device within 27 days from the day you placed your order to qualify for your trade-in value and bonus. Yes, it's not based on the day you receive your trade-in box, the day you ship it, or the day you receive your new phone—it's based on the day you placed your order. They must receive it within 27 days, not just have you ship it. So, be careful.

Yup, that's me. I literally have one of the oldest Motorola phones allowed for a $1+150 trade in sitting around. It has zero value on the used market. My daily driver is a 2022 Stylus 5g which has served me well but is a little long in the tooth.

ETA: if you don't have a trade in, Walmart has 2024 Moto Play for $40, it has a $35 trade in value straight up+$150 bonus value

This is a badly worded offer. You're basically getting at least $1.00 for the trade in, plus a bonus discount of $150. They say "most phones" but they only go back to iPhone 11.

Might want to look at the straight talk deal if it's still active. Pay for 3 months of service for about 150 ish and get the phone free. Unlocks after 60 days after activation

Edge 2024 has underwhelming battery and heats up with basic usage. The Stylus and Power have like 2x the endurance.

No. I have both and the Stylus is better overall. Worse design wise.

After a 2020 Stylus and a 2022 G Power, I wouldn't make my next phone a motorola. They work fine but the camera stinks and I don't like this 'quad pixel' advertising bs. It's a 12.5MP camera with terrible quality. I'm reminded of a very cheap point-and-shoot from eBay I bought for a family trip and all the photos were like they came from a webcam.
I have the Edge 2024 from the Total deal as well as an Edge 2022 I've had for awhile. The cameras are MUCH improved with the 2024 compared to my 2022. The main and the front ones are very noticeably better. Still not iPhone (which I have on another line) level of course, but no Android phone is except pixel and a few of the really high dollar flagships. Those 2 cameras on the 2024 are perfectly serviceable now. The wide camera is still really bad though.

Also with the earlier comment from someone else about heat and battery...that has absolutely not been the case with mine. I don't game on my phone, no intense ones anyways, but I've never gotten the 2024 to really heat up, and battery life is the same to a bit better than my 2022 which already does quite well.

What I DONT like about the 2024 is 1, the curved screen. I much prefer the 2022's flat normal one. And 2, the bloat/new UI. Some of it is the carrier BS on mine of course, but some of it is also in the UI and new moto apps. Like usual you can uninstall and disable the offenders...but since some of it is from moto itself, I bet even the retail unlocked version might take a bit of work in that regard. At least more than past ones.

Otherwise, it's a good phone for the tier and especially these good prices lately.

The Motorola G Stylus 2020 camera is very good. I ran side by side by side camera test with my pixel 3a and iPhone SE 2020. It didn't win the side by side tests but Motorola took a huge step in improving their camera. Pixel won but the gap is getting smaller now. I have both the Motorola G Power 2020 and Motorola G Stylus 2020 and the Stylus camera is way better than the Power 2020 camera. I have gcam on my Stylus 2020 and it does better than stock camera but the stock camera is solid. With my Stylus 2022, it is a solid camera but with so angles of white could come off little yellowish. I could never find a decent working gcam so I just use stock camera and been happy with that. Motorola cameras got so much better nowadays.

Phone cameras nowadays are just at the point where their improvements year in and year out is barely noticeable. But I am not a pro photographer or big phone snob or take 1000 pictures a month.

Am I weird for still wanting a Stylus 2024 over the Edge? I like the stylus, microSD support, and 3.5mm headphone jack, even if the processor is 10% slower. Unsure
Good to know this information. Thanks. I very much like the 3.5mm headphone jack and SD support too.

I can't speak for Total but my Metro Motorola G Stylus 2022 is so clean and polished. I have a Moto app folder with only 4 Motorola apps (device help, games, moto note, motorola notifications) and when I pull down the drawer, there are only 3 motorola apps (Moto app, Moto Secure and Family Space). The moto app and moto secure apps are important apps. I can disable family space and hide it if I want. If one has a carrier app with motorola, disabling it could hide it away. Motorola always has clean polished user experience. Motorola visual user experience is a lot like my Pixels (not spec wise) especially when the 120hz is on. Even with a Stylus 2022 on Android 13 and my Pixel 6a on Android 15, they still feel so similar.

I still put a lot of screen time on my stylus 2022 because of that big 6.8" display even though it is lcd. Size makes it more enjoyable.

I'm typing this from a Moto Edge 2024 I've been using for a few weeks. It's fine for basic usage, and the screen, sound, and haptics are all at least decent. But you are giving up a lot of performance and camera quality compared to even years-old flagships -- the Edge 2024's processor is slower than that of the iPhone 8 (from 2017) and the photos it takes are grainy and blurry, much worse - especially in low-light or unstable conditions - than from the Galaxy S9 (from 2018), just comparing to other devices I have on hand.

The main benefit that the Edge 2024 has over those, of course, is the large 144Hz OLED screen and more modern software support (currently on Android 14, expected to get up to Android 16), as well as the additional RAM so that background apps don't get killed. I also like the plastic back (but not the curve of the screen edges or the "Mobile Services" bloatware that you should disable ASAP). Honestly, for someone like me who doesn't play heavy phone games (just puzzle and card games), it's a perfectly nice device... except for the camera, which simply isn't up to the task of taking photos of the kids playing or at their activities.

Yep, that's where Samsung assembles their phones. I believe all iPhone manufacturing is still in China. But the internal parts come from many different countries.
