Otherwise seems silly to burn your first shot on a xbox controller considering the crazy deals they do.

There are only 4 controller generations, and the various colors of Xbox core controllers on QVC appear to be either 3rd or 4th gen. I couldn't find a way to tell beyond that. the descriptions are different depending on the controller color and none identify model numbers. The various descriptions spec different bluetooth versions, 4.0, 4.2, and 5.0. I couldn't find any controller specs that definitively identify versions used for each model, just that generations 3 & 4 use Bluetooth LE, and that gen 4 may use Bluetooth 5.2.
after looking more at the variant list on fandom, these are most likely gen 4 controllers based on the colors available. as long as you receive what it looks like you're ordering. QVC looks a bit sketch to me overall
guess that explains why i'd never heard of it, and why it looks kinda sketch
