Pharmacist here. Would recommend to consider desloratadine (if you're on multiple medications, less interaction risk) or loratadine in place of this. For regular use, it's less anticholinergic (drying effects on eyes, mouth, affects memory, etc.).

Once again, "Mr. Pharmacist"....Desloratadine (brand name, Clarinex) is only available by prescription (you should know this!) and is considerably more expensive! Me thinks those who participate here on SD would be in search of a lower-priced med, not a higher-priced one! Once you've taken this for a while, the anticholinergic effects are mimimal.

Good find!....but this company had a major recall of Loratadine several years back, so the trust level is kinda low!

Anticholinergic effects can compound over time. Especially if taken along with other anticholinergic medications. These effects have also been documented to become permanent if caught. You have to decide if that's worth the savings, especially if you take this regularly. You can also get used to the side effects, but that doesn't make the medication safer. I also proposed loratadine which is readily available OTC and more affordable. But interaction potential is present. Space it out from most other meds and you'll be fine.
