Would this be good as a Time Machine backup?

Same question

This or the 2tb Samsung t7? Unsure if Time Machine would be too many writes and wear that drive out quicker than this spinning disc?

Anyone with input on that?

Slightly related but I've had a T7 Touch and it was extremely slow. Turns out the included cable isn't good. I tried a Thunderbolt 3 and TB4 cable and speeds were fast.

My understanding is that these portable hard drives don't even get close to even USB 3.0 speeds. So adding a thunderbolt cable would be a total overkill. Is that not the case?
