It's a lot of memory that may NOT help you if you don't need the extra ram. Check compatibility first. Most laptops I've come across can't support 64GB RAM. If you already have 32GB, check your computer when you are using it with the most apps you can think of running and see if it is running out of memory or slow. All that memory if rarely used just costs money and power. RAM requires power to retain its content so more ram then more power and less battery life. Also suspending to disk will cause you more disk space if you have more RAM.

Interesting…well Mine for example has 2x4GB dual channel of ram. It is compatible as Ive just checked the specs of my laptop and the max it could accept is 2x32GB.

Theoretically this would benefit my laptop battery life so it doesn't have to work hard to be efficient.

I really want to upgrade my RAM so $70 for this deal is really good!

unless you running some 6 or 7 gen intel i3, you can be pretty much sure system can support at least 64G, up to 128G of ram.
i think laptop processor that doesn't' support 64G is the minority here, the limitation is more likely due to availability of physical slot.

It's going to be a big boost from 8GB to 64GB. I have a lenovo laptop from 2009 that boasted 4GB of DDR3 RAM. They even made a sticker to show DDR3! Well, When I tried 2X4GB for an overall 8GB total, it started to run so very slowly that I was unable to use it. So I would always check for max ram before investing. To be honest, getting 16GB used may be best bang for your bucks Wink

No, it's not just the CPU, but also mother board. So you must check. My 10th gen desktop has an i9-10900K, which supports 128GB. But the mobo only supports 64GB or 2X32GB. I got it 4X8GB and have not needed any increase. In theory, all 10 cores can be overclocked to 5.3GHz, not like the turbo boost which is only boosting a single core (the best one among all cores). But in reality, it's installed on a business mobo so reliability trumps performance so no overclocking capability at all.

That doesn't make any sense, as the processor you listed has a embedded, or integrated memory controller on the processor itself. It doesn't require a northbridge like the old times. The memory lanes are directly mapped from CPU pin to the memory socket, The motherboard does nothing aside from providing the electrical path. Pretty much all modern-day processors have integrated memory controllers so it doesn't have to rely on some random motherboard northbridge or EC to increase the compatibility.

Then I might be wrong. If I get a chance to try this, such as coming by 128GB of DDR4 SDRAM, I will certainly try. Thing is, high amount of RAM in an older generation such as DDR4 right now usually don't come by at reasonable prices except for this deal. I have an i5-9500T in a mini desktop that uses DDR4 SO-DIMM. Love to try 128GB or even 64GB on it but it's not justified. That whole system was worth about 200 bucks and is rarely turned on.
