Woot has a spit shine policy. Sometimes you get more spit than shine.

I've gotten stuff from them that was downright abused and broken -- and it was their own company's products too! Two different kindles (refurbs with batteries that didin't last 30 mins of use), several echos (dead on arrival), etc.

Personally, I wouldn't trust them. I'd rather spend a token amount more for an entry-level M4 "I"-Pad that's brand new, get it with Apple "Care". Even if it's a lesser spec'ed model, it still has a faster CPU and better screen.

Just got this in the mail today. Came with an afterparty box and 3rd party charger/cable.

The tablet had an engraving of the previous owner (nothing offensive) and small scratches/dings around the frame. There is a larger 3mm ish scratch on the top right corner in the bezel. No major scratches on display that would hinder the use.

Heard horror stories from the site but so far satisfied. Still will play around for next several days to see if any issues arise and decide to keep or not.

EDIT: downloaded a battery shortcut and it says 90% capacity with 50 full charge cycles, lasts couple days of "regular" usage but charging still takes a while. In the Apple account this was named as a personalized Ipad so the prior owner bought directly from Apple hence the engraving.

I sent pictures of the scratches to Woot and their staff were friendly and offered a partial refund which I will likely take unless surprise issues come up over next few days. Overall tablet is not the best condition compared to others who got mint or excellent, but far from the worst condition I've seen

I've wanted a 13" ipad for a while. Is this a better bet than using OfferUp…?? Are there any recent deals "better" than this (just based on screen size)?
I purchased an iPad Air M2 (13-inch, 256GB) open box (like new) from Amazon a few days ago for $623+tax during their 20% off promotion for open box items. I just received the iPad, and it is practically brand new with the factory seal intact. If I had not known it was an open box item, I would have assumed it was brand new. This model is current, having been released only six months ago, so I think it is a solid deal. It also comes with the full Apple warranty since it is a brand-new iPad, not a refurbished one. I do not need an iPad Pro as I find it to be overkill for my needs. I wanted a 13-inch iPad with more storage, and this one fits the bill perfectly.

Thank you for this. Unless I'm looking in the wrong "area" of Amazon - I'm only seeing used deals on ipad air 13" starting around $692

Ipad Air M2 is not really worth $700 2022 M2 ipad pro might be.

Open box items are limited and tend to sell out quickly, so they are often here one moment and gone the next. Another option is to check your Target Circle account for a 15% or 20% coupon. This is a targeted promotion, so your mileage may vary. For some reasons Apple products are not excluded this time. If the 13-inch iPad Air with 128GB storage is enough, you might be able to snag it for under $550 with redcard discount and coupon.

Just sold my M1 256 12.9" WiFi Only iPad Pro for $600 cuz I needed a cellular version for infotainment system. Already have another 12.9" M1 Cellular 1TB but should I get another one for the car or go with 11"?

I want the current model brand new and have no interest in older models or refurbished products. The 2022 iPad Pro M2 12.9-inch is hard to find brand new now, as most stores only carry the 2024 M4 model, which is far beyond my budget. The iPad Air M2 13-inch I found on Amazon, like new in an open box for just over $600, is the most I can afford. I only want a 13-inch display with higher storage, so this is the best option I have been able to find at this point.

Just replacing my CarPlay with the iPad. Essentially just sticking the iPad on top of the current infotainment screen magnetically. Not a permanent mod. But I've seen a lot of people doing the same thing and works flawlessly with a GPS capable iPad Pro.

I might try it first with my current 12.9" and see how it all goes. Then switch to the 11" if it's too big or get another 12.9" dedicated for the car. Preferably with apple care so I don't have to worry about it getting damaged

Note that it does not support the new Apple Pencil Pro, so this is slightly worse than M2 iPad Pro.
Although M4 iPad Pro is much better in almost every way, it currently starts at $1099 for 256GB (8GB RAM).

Personally I do not have any use case on iPad that requires 16GB RAM, but it just feels right to have extra RAM around especially for the upcoming Apple Intelligence.
M4 iPad is $850 256GB at Amazon New.

Too bad I returned my Brand new 2022 128Gb cellular M2 model from woot last month...
The $350 for a KB turned me off and made me realize what a waste of money this ipad is for most people...
Meanwhile a ....

Android 10in FHD+ Tablet $60 to $280.
New iPad 9 256gb $280, iPad M4 256 $850 with Citi 3 year warranty
BT Keyboard with touchpad $30

It mind-blowing to think an iPad Keyboard cost more than iPad or Android tablet with BT keys

Not a good deal. Just get the latest Air with the M2 chip.
This iPad has a miniLED and promotion display, while the Air only has a IPS LCD. That's a pretty significant difference, while the difference in their processors arguably is not.

Not worth getting the new M4 models especially if you need cellular and 1TB+ space. But if you just need 256GB and WiFi, sure get the M4. But a used M1 will be more than sufficient for 99% of people using this iPad which is mainly for web browsing and day to day non professional use.
