Due to repeated questions in the thread here are additional details.
The $300 Verizon GC offer is tied to purchasing a smartphone online. You are eligible to claim this offer for every order transaction regardless if you are placing an order for 1 phone/line or 10 phones/lines.
The $200 Verizon GC offer folks have been receiving via sales chat/phone is a switch promotion. I am not able to find the terms for this offer but in the past this has been an available offer which requires you to port in from a non Verizon carrier that includes the various Verizon prepaids and MNVOs.
To my knowledge these Verizon GC offers have 12 month service terms or you will be charged back "claw back"
There are currently 2 separate iPhone 16 offers.
- the offer in this post which involves the trade in of any Apple, Google, and Samsung device for $1000 in bill credits with new lines
- no trade in required to receive $1000/$820/$640 in bill credits with new lines for the Ultimate/Plus/Welcome plans respectively
When you add the phone to the cart you must choose the right offer otherwise you will not go through the workflow with the step to add a trade in.
In addition if you enter a non Apple, Google, or Samsung device during the trade in you will receive the actual value of the device, including $0 if its older to be recycled,
AND you'll be defaulted to the non trade in promotion.
This is the reason at checkout some people are seeing $10/month or $5/month because they've selected the Welcome or Plus plan respectively and the non trade in offer has been applied.
There have also been a lot of "can I trade in XXX phone?".
The terms state you can trade in ANY Apple, Google, or Samsung phone in any condition. In my experience the any condition is intentionally meant to covered cracked screens and aesthetic damages. The device should turn on and function well enough that the IMEI can be retrieved and have no swelling/damaged battery (for safe handling reasons). Regarding any phone from the 3 manufacturers the process is constrained by the system and the list of devices/imei in its database. Be reasonable and don't expect extremely obscure or foreign region only devices to come up.
You can determine for yourself if a device qualifies for the $1000 by going through the online order process. You will need to enter the IMEI so you must have the device in hand. If you are not getting the $1000 value then you likely have not selected the right offer when adding the phone to the cart or your device is too obscure. I've attached screenshots of 2 devices that have been inquired about (A03 and 5c) showing the $1000 trade in amount.

Don't want to pay for more than one plan in the same period, so would like to time the port-in to approximately the end of my current plan with the current carrier.

You are saying that it starts as soon as they ship. Not when the phones are delivered/signed for? They can bill you for days you aren't able to physically use the service?
I am in the same boat - the $200 gc promo x 4 lines = $800 (code - CHAT200GC2024), is not attached to the order receipt even though the rep in the Chat confirmed I qualified for the promo . The rep in the porting department confirmed as much. The rep, who seemed most knowledgeable out of 4 or 5 people I spoke to in CS and Inside Sales dept, says that CS dept can do a Promo Correction on my account. Only thing is an account has not been created yet for my order. The porting dept rep says the Account number will be generated once I receive the phones and activate them - the phones arrive tomorrow. I can then talk with CS dept and get the Promo Correction done. The CS rep thought the Sales dept should've created Account number during the Order process. Maybe someone can chime in about the Account number generation process.
When I get the phones tomorrow, I will phone Porting and CS dept to ensure that they add the $200 per line promo to my account (email confirmation?), before I authorize porting of all 4 lines. Losing out on 4 x 200 = $800 would be a deal breaker for me. And not Slick. I would cancel and order again just as the user "myAddidas1981" did up thread. Lesson learned - next time, I would definitely take screenshots of the Chat session when the promos are "promised" to us (my Chat session got disconnected once I made Sales tax payments, so I could not save the transcripts of my Chat session).

Order 4 phones, 3 that was UPS to my home address and 1 that is on its way to my son in College. I think the 1 phone being send to a different address trigger the fraud detection.
I attached some copied of my receipt to help anyone with questions on how it should look like. The receipt is showing all my GC being applied and activation fee waived.
Only weird thing is I am being charge both CA and NY tax, I do not know if that has to do with the fact I am sending my son a phone. CA and NY taxes are similar, so it doesn't bother me.
I am also a Verizon Fios customer and will be doing autopay, that hasn't been applied yet. I will be calling in and getting those discounts apply.

To add this is the Unlimited welcome plan.
I hope it goes smoothly tomorrow, because I want to retain the ability to cancel/return the order and remain/retain the phone service on my current carrier T-mobile.
