Seems like a good price compared to the historical price run of this camera. It's a bit old now and clarity isn't really up to par with some of the latest devices out there. Thoughts from anyone else on this thing in 2024?

They do have new models that came out recently. But for this price, I'm getting one.

yes the Starvis 2 is much much better than this outdated Garmin cam and almost 50% cheaper too. The Starvis 2 sensor is almost as good as 4K dash cams.

The Garmin is also a 180 degree lens which is not what you want unless you want video of your dash. 140 degree lenses are better.

I'm concerned about longevity and reliability. Supposedly the Garmin devices are pretty good with dealing with the heat and cold that they are exposed to while attached to the windshield nonstop. Any thoughts on how the Starvis is with that?

Look at the reviews, with included sample images. It appears to be outdated tech. This thing appears to be useless if you ever actually need something as simple as a license plate.

Read the reviews. Far from useless.
