That's why physical media is dying, because of that same way of thinking. Digital media is not good since you are only paying for the licence which can be taken at any moment by the disclaimer.

I got used liked new 450 from Amazon Warehouse for $140. Warehouse is doing 20% off.
I dont need the HDR optimizer in the 820. I have a Sony X90L so i can tweak settings in there.
I ordered 2 in case one is messed up.

Cant justify the price of the 820, i wont use it that much.

And someone hasss to make a new player soon

Anyone have the 450? Any issues?
As good as the tone mapping is on Sony displays, the Panasonic does a noticeably better job in preserving detail and overall brightness without dimming the overall image.

Is it possible that's not correct? I've been eyeing this player for awhile now and it hasn't been $318 anytime recently. No one posted that price on SD either.

I've been waiting for this deal but reading the most recent reviews about 4k disk not playing makes me hesitate and freezing issues. It sounds like my sony player. Argh.

Not to mention he would have to do that for each content he plays, the optimizer does it even as it plays the content.

This isn't Sony, very hit and miss with their players regarding that.
Haven't had those issues with this(or 420) over two years.

If this is the player you've been waiting for grab it now, these next 4 years are not going to be kind in this realm!

Sorry, but not getting what you mean by the next 4 years. Is it that you think bluray players are going to be phased out during this time? Or Panasonic is going to be leaving this business?

Also, not sure if you or anyone else can answer this. For playing regular 1080p bluray discs, are there any benefits of this Panasonic player (or the 420 model) over cheaper bluray players? Or are the benefits only with 4K discs?

I believe he means potential tariffs will inflate prices
