Wait. People still fiddle with discs?
Ha ha. Was waiting when someone will say this.
As it was said before "Streaming is for deaf and blind"

As good as the tone mapping is on Sony displays, the Panasonic does a noticeably better job in preserving detail and overall brightness without dimming the overall image.
I have a Sony Z9J and also purchased a like new UB450. I'm considering purchasing a 820 and holding onto the 450 as a backup in case the 820 dies.

Potential Tariffs?

I believe he means potential tariffs will inflate prices
Oh, right. That went over my head. I guess this can be said about a lot of consumer electronics products potentially.

That's why physical media is dying, because of that same way of thinking. Digital media is not good since you are only paying for the licence which can be taken at any moment by the disclaimer.

If you don't have Amex offer, Prime credit card has 7% cash back, comes to about the same value.

So this is different from players that say "Blu-Ray"?

I got used liked new 450 from Amazon Warehouse for $140. Warehouse is doing 20% off.
I dont need the HDR optimizer in the 820. I have a Sony X90L so i can tweak settings in there.
I ordered 2 in case one is messed up.

Cant justify the price of the 820, i wont use it that much.

And someone hasss to make a new player soon

Anyone have the 450? Any issues?
Easily ratio'd comment. Enjoy.

I've had this for a year. It's the #1 recommended 4k player. IMO it's good but extremely sensitive to dust and disc scratches. I also have some pristine looking discs that skip at the same spot every time in this player but play fine in my PS5.

I still have my blu ray player from 2010. Is it worth this much now?

Edit: not that I'd sell it, I'm just curious 😊

I have kept my vcr in the garage too because you never know. I still enjoy having physical media especially when licenses expire in the streaming world.

You bought two (in case one breaks) but can't justify paying a few dollars more for the better player? 😂
