Sadly even in the professionali world I have seen such amateurish and silly stuff when we had installers installing doors windows and associated hardwere with to powerful and high RPM tools. Literally saw tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars of damaged product caused by the more power crowd.
My dentist must be a fool as he has access to a jackhammer yet uses those low powered tools. It was not the cavemen that could only think of a bigger stick or rock that advanced civilization along with its tools and techniques.
I personally would go m12 fuel with bigger capacity batteries if I was just starting out. Only thing I chose non-fuel for is the ratchet.

But the ryobi's taken just as much dmg as I've given my makita or Milwaukee 18v tools. I'm not a tool snob. I only have makita because my dad bought me some tools and I bought more on deals I found. As far as Milwaukee I thought I'd try them out and of course I found deals I couldnt refuse. Lol. I'd start buying Milwaukee 12v tools too but I just don't need anymore tools. But if I had to start over right now. It'd be between the Milwaukee 12v line or ryobi. Or both
Something that I gave them great credit for is that they kept their batteries the same when things started switching over to lithium ion. Dawalt of which I owned few forced obsolescence on older tools when the battery format changed with the introduction of the 20V lineup.Had to sell my former Dewalt stuff before it became almost valuless.
I find both at home and work the more precision and less powerful tools are needed more than heavy duty stuff. If I lost all tools the less powerful ones would be the first purchased as they are the most used. I am not installing or repairing decks and framing everyday, the extra bulk and power and extra wear and tear on body are not a positives but but very big negatives and not needed for most jobs I have to do around the house. Can't stand to have a overly heavy and powerful tool when one is not needed.
edit: I'm an idiot and it's not the same deal, carry on lol
