She told me they were well aware of the issue with Backcountry splitting the transactions, and that they were working with Backcountry to remediate the issue on behalf of everyone affected (regardless of whether or not they call in)
She said to expect the Offer to be applied within 14 business days of the two <$400 transactions posting and to call back if that doesn't happen.
Keeping my packages unopened in the meantime.

Dec 11 - Purchased two $200 e-gift cards and a $1 donation "just in case" for a $401 total order
Dec 12 - e-gift cards received
Dec 15 - Went to Chase Offers page and saw the offer had "disappeared" (can't find it anywhere in Chase Offers wallet just like many others earlier in this thread)
Dec 16 - Email saying offer redeemed and I confirmed the offer is now visible in the Chase Offers wallet as redeemed
No credit yet since the email says wait 7-14 business days, but this deal seems to be working as expected even with gift cards.

I had this issue and was dealing with it for over an hour. Switched from my iPhone (Safari) to my Mac and used Chrome and it still wouldn't work. I switched to Safari on my Mac and it finally went through. I don't know if I did anything differently, or the browser change helped.

Not sure why this question is being down voted. I feel like this is a fairly legit question. I got one item that's $40 that didn't fit well and needing to return it.

I do want to say a few people did post here saying they got the reimbursement with split transactions.
