Having owned a 12" DeWalt that didn't slide, 10" blades are cheaper, easier to find, and have more variety of manufacturers, tooth counts, etc. available off-the-shelf.

Ugh recent reviews from the latest quality control production don't look promising
Dewalt always has some stupid faults they can easily fix for pennies but refuse to do so on their saws lineup. You pay a premium and expect premium. But everything with those clowns falls on deaf ears.
This SKIL is an excellent deal for homeowners. Any kind of SKIL power saw is very good and excellent value for the price, imo. I avoid their other stuff.

Price wise, it blows them out of the water. You won't find a better brand new saw under $250 anywhere, and for a DIYer, this saw hits all the necessary notes. The only "con" that Popular Mechanics could come up with, after voting it Best Value right behind a $650 DeWalt, is that it doesn't have quite as much cut capacity as a 12" sliding saw, but, well, duh… it's a 10" saw. As with any miter saw, the dust collection leaves a lot to be desired, but it's functional. There also aren't positive bevel stops, so you have to hold the angle with one hand and tighten with the other—nothing an electronic angle finder can't help with though.

I think unless you have an Amex or Discover offer with Amazon, you are not going to beat Walmart combined with CB sites, though. One I use has 12% at Walmart right now, which would make the total about $175.
