I called Amazon and customer service said they were going to issue me a refund of $200 to my credit card for the inconvenience instead of the Amazon gift card. That seems a bit odd for them to do given the item costs $299. I don't have a high degree of confidence that the refund will occur since the service rep didn't seem to know what they were doing. Told me it would take 5-7 days to get the credit refund but no email, code, order update, etc. on my Amazon account to confirm. Hope this goes through since I don't want to have to call them back to resolve this later.

Just got another email from Amazon. They also gave me the $100 promotional credit! Verified it by adding something to the cart and the checkout shows the $100 promo offer being applied.
