I did not take out my sim from the phone and my phone was unlocked after 60 days as expected.
I was such a good little boy, and left the SIM in the phone even though I didn't want to use that iPhone.
Anyway, an agent over chat said it should unlock tomorrow, but will "fully unlock" a day later. I don't know what that means
*** UPDATE***
The phone did unlock today as the agent said it would. (Day 61). But now I am REALLY curious what he meant by it will "fully unlock" a day later .. tomorrow.

Activated the phone with esim. Over the chat requested for a psim and received it. Used psim with the iPhone normally for a day and switched off the phone and kept using the psim with a different mobile.
Fast forward, switched on iphone on day 61. Shows no network restrictions.
Hope this helps someone.
