Not sure if each KFC quality varies but the one near my workplace has been serving really fresh pieces. I usually get the 8pcs for $10 deal on Tuesdays (4 drumsticks and 4 thighs). Tried these tenders today and they were super juicy, flavorful, and fresh.

That said, I think the only time I've been disappointed was with the nuggets. They use white meat and it's insanely dry if you don't use any sauces.

Under deals, they had 2pcs (1 drumstick 1 thigh), a side, and a biscuit for $5. That's what I used to meet the $5 minimum. As long as the deals don't require a promo code, you can use it to meet the $5 minimum.

In my neck of the woods, the only things that are $5 is the newly added "Taste of KFC 2 piece meal deal" and the Famous Bowl. Those items will get one exactly to $5.
