Never buy one unless it has a valve to decompress the tank. Why even make one without it?

YES ... but often times its a pain in the butt since there is pressure built up inside and that makes the lid hard - very hard - to open against that pressure ...

second -- when you have to do it manually - there is a very good chance that the fluid / chemicals inside the take will become airborne and escape all over you ...

But not getting a face full of some kind of toxic material in which one should never be exposed to would take all of the fun out of these DIY projects!

Agreed with above poster. Go with stainless steel. Similarly to this style. There is a relief valve to let pressure out. Stainless steel will always costs more than plastic canister. Because after a period of usage, the plastic canister are under pressure and will split in the seam. I have something like this one Vevor brand.

Never go above the recommended gauge pressure. I think 40lbs max. I rather handpump it to 25lbs - 30lbs for safety.

I bought this type of sprayer to control lanternflies.

As long as you unscrew it by the hose its pretty easy. I was doing mine by the top before and yeah then its hard. Just tilt to side you don't want fluid above hose fitting when unscrewing unless you want to get blasted LOL. Just use a rag so you don't get sprayed.

I have 2 of these. One for bugs and one for weeds. Bug spray I use has no smell. These are great. They don't have a release valve but I prefer that, they always leak air out. You pump it 20 pumps and spray for a long time. I always spray till the stuff is gone then the pressurized air goes out the wand in a few seconds.

Harbor freight has good priced ones with pressure release valves. Then get on amazon and buy the extra tips to use teejet tips (usually a red colored one). The spray pattern is far superior to the turnable adjusting tips.
