They fit a certain type of foot very well. Typically narrow high arched feet. But HOKAs can also cause foot pain. Most of their regular width models don't fit low arched feet. I own 6 pairs and they have their pluses but also drawbacks. The hype is unwarranted.
Why have 6 pairs of shoes that don't work for you? Are you flexing or something?

You think like that until you get something like plantar fasciitis. Then you'll never wear poorly made footwear again. Hokas have saved me from immense pain.
NO JOKE!!!!
altra hoka asics ice packs socks with arch support are a must have for plantar fasciitis

It is absolutely necessary to find the correct shoe model for your foot type! I am flat footed with regular width feet and overpronation, and the Arahis are fantastic for me, while my spouse has wide feet with high arches and he loves the wide-sized Cliftons. I also dig the Challenger 7s. There are several models that just don't work for my feet.

I also had to have multiple running shoe store professionals in multiple states and my podiatrist tell me to buy a full size to size and a half larger than my typical shoe size to allow for my feet to expand when active before I actually listened—made a world of difference.

I bought this brand once- and they lasted less than 6 months. I will never buy again.

Until you wake up one day and plantar fasciitis decides knocks you off your feet. Literally.
You can often find better shoes for less money, but yeah, most Hokas are solid enough, some are great, and the OP price is about as low as they get for the current generation of the Clifton line.

Personally, I'd recommend the Mach 6 over this for actual running, especially faster workouts, but it's hard to go wrong with the Clifton if you're a casual jogger or even non-runner who just wants a comfortable shoe that isn't as squishy as the Bondi.

The real answer is to see an actual podiatrist to confirm the diagnosis and, while you're there, ask for specific shoe guidance. Write down the specifics, and go to an actual running specialty store, preferably when there's a sale.

Caveat: if you want the shoe for running rather than walking, you might find an orthopedist who works in sports medicine more suited to your needs. Might even make sense to ask them for a referral to a physical therapist who will start with gait analysis.

Same price on Hoka, with a better return policy if you sign up for their club.

Seems like I can stack 10% from cashback site, 15% chase freedom cashback and 5% chase freedom paypal. That's not bad. Something like $82+tax.
Chase offers and PayPal are ymmv. Sometimes they honor, sometimes they dont

These shoes are great for people with foot issues like me but they definitely are not as durable as other brands but that's not why we buy them.
